Will there be something in the spring, when the roads are dry on MY side of the mountains?

On Feb. 22, I plan to be here in the Tonquin Valley:

Dean,

Alpine Club of Canada "Huts" are for wussies!

However, the winter is the BEST time to be in the Tonquin Valley, as the last summer I was there the bugs were the worst I have ever experienced.

Here's as comfy as I get in winter camping: (MSR Fury)

Nice tent! I came very close to buying one of those last summer. Still my top choice but I'm gonna try and snag a rental Sierra 2-person tent when Campus Outdoor has their going-out-of-business sale.

Ah! Good idea.

The Fury has the most incredible snow loading capabilities. It's a bit expensive for a two person winter tent, but MSR stuff is really good.

I also have a Microzoid for ultra-light summer work. I used to use a SilTarp, but the bugs sent me back to a tent. The Microzoid can be packed down to about 2 1/2 pounds.
