Thumbs up spring gtg

Holson,

Count me in. This time I will most likelyactually WASH and possibly e
ven wax my old black bomber. ...

By the way, how did you make out with that loose bracket on your airfilter assembly.

Another FINE place togather is in Ct. This is ROCKY NECK STATE PARK. This park is much smaller than Hammonnassett. It islocated just off I95, however, rocky neck is further east than hammonnassett.

Best wishes always,spo

Now I am off to the municipal garage torescue my oilburner. The WARMER weather conditions these days have allowed the old beast it LIGHT UP without the extension cord!

Guys

Now that I have my licensce I am in. How about something a bit closer to us in Massachusetts/Rhode Island?

Horseneck Beach State Reservation

Wildlife Res/ Beach on the Atlantic Ocean. Lots of cool stuff, including submarine towers. Located in Wesport Massachusetts, much closer for all of us up North.

http://www.state.ma.us/dem/parks/hbch.htm

Whatcha think?

Many massive parking lots that are not full...do not know if they are acessible in Spring... I can check.

I checked with my father and other locals....the extremely large parking areas are surrounded by sand dunes, and have tons of room, and are acessible to public in the spring. What you guys think? Definately a semi-middle eastern flair.

I'm down for Horseneck Beach

What about March 8th or March 15th? Saturday? or should we find a later date (like in April)?
If April, what about April 19th?

btw spo,

I just duct taped the loose pipe in the air cleaner assembly and so far it's holding up perfectly.

I hope people don't know that I still have a huge roll of duct tape in my trunk I might find my 300CD's trunk pryed open

We are planning on having a WA GTG on March 8th or 15th. It would be neat if you guys in New England have on one the same day as we have ours in WA.

Horseneck sounds good

Going down today to see if the parking areas are indeed acessible.

Also, if they are not...another idea would be Colt State Park in Bristol RI. Situated near the ocean, picnic areas, pagodas. Very cool. May be a cost to get in. I am gonna check Horseneck out today and see whats up. For me, I vote to go in early march. The eighth or fifteenth is fine.

Thumbs up GTG

Not to nit pic ..

But if this happens before March 20th we'll
have to call it the "Late Winter GTG" rather
than the "Spring GTG" .. either way .. just
decide where and when :p :p

Jim in Ct ..

I'm in as long as I am in the area. And I second Triffin (Jim)'s note that if it happens before the equinox it is technically not a Spring event. If we are near the water, it is common sense to predict the weather is going to be chilly. We have had a few chilly events, and while that does not bother me a lot, I don't know if I would plan one in cold weather again, on purpose without a reason. Jim

What about March 23rd or 30th instead then?

Later days.. should be a lil bit warmer.. and we can gather more people to go

I really wonder why no non-diesel drivers have responded so far... I'm gonna try to get some of my friends to come along (one MBZ guy and a BMW guy)

Should we do it at Horseneck beach then? I don't mind driving to Hammonassett again to be honest.

any updates Kyle?

Horseneck...

It was still snowed in and I didn't have a chance to check if it was open but most likely it is. I will check again! From what I've heard its open access in off season. The reason I suggested Horseneck is for all those people that are a bit more up north. Its pretty centrally located in between Massachusetts, Conneticut, Rhode Island etc. Its definately a nice place, and will not be too cold because the parking areas are flanked by sand dunes. Lots of cool places to eat too. I will definately go there today and check as I have to apply for a job in the area.
