Just talked to the dealer about NE GTG

For the sake of a Title for the get together, I proclaim it "Mercedesshop.com Northeastern Seasonal Enthusiasts Get Together"
Well at first I talked to a rather snobby women who directed me to talk to a representativer of the dealer. They don't seem really crazy about it, but they are not opposed to it. I will have to construct a portfolio of sorts outlining exactly what this is going to be about. So what I need is a list of the people going, what their cars are, and what exactly we are going to do. He thought it was a good idea, I hope his "dealer partners" do as well. I just hope that after all this schmoozing with these people at the dealer, we can really get 10-15 people together to show up. I quoted Saturday March 22nd as the day most likely for it to occur. All I need is distinct information, so I can construct exactly what is do be going on, how many people, the different models of vehicles that will be there, and that it would also be good advertising for the mark. I hope this works out. I will have to go there next Friday of Thursday to discuss this. I need all the help I can get, so please post all the info. Holson, what exactly are we "doing" here.

geez i hope they don't have to have a board meeting to decide this...

Not to be a fly in the ointment but why do we have to meet at an MB dealership? Seems like it's going to be a PITA to get all the information needed, even if they approve this gathering on thier property. How about a park?

You have to understand that you're dealing with an entity connected with a German company . . .

Their ATTITUDE is " If you ain't ONE OF US . . . YOU DON'T EXIST"

KylePavao 03-01-2003 08:19 PM

Well

We don't have to Turbodiesel, but I think it'd be cool if it were at a dealer, because it has the whole Benz aura. I dunno.

Holson Adi 03-01-2003 09:32 PM

what exactly are we doing there?
hhmm... I'm guessing if we say chit chat with no other reason they wouldn't be too happy.

any other ideas?

gtg

How about we tell "viti motors" that we are diesel Mercedes Benz enthusiasts getting together for some fun.

We can even allow their potentional customers the experience of a whole slew of idling/ clattering/smoking oilburners in their exclusive parking area...............a virtual "musical cachophany" (misspelled) of sorts...Kind of a joke;) .

Anyway, either way, I personally can EITHER take or leave the whole dealer thing..........I am just "along for the ride".

Whatever is chosen is fine with me. Coffee will travel with my son and maybe something else.

Lets keep those diesels humming!

spo out.

I don't care where it is. As long as there are MB's and good folks to talk to I will do my best to be there. My lovely wife will bring brownies again.... RT

KylePavao 03-02-2003 10:11 AM

I dunno

Viti seems less than interested in GTG for non- MBCA organizations. I really do not know how it's going to gog, or how they are going to take it. I don't think they just want use there for chit chat etc. I will give it a try nex thursday when the three heads of the dealership are there. I'll give them my papaer to read over, and hopefully they will except. Only think is I truly hope that after all the work of getting the dealer to let us go there, that more than 8 people will show up.

Holson Adi 03-02-2003 01:52 PM

I have a feeling they are just going to say no after all the hassle.

I say we just go to a parking lot again and maybe for dinner we could all find a nice lil place and park the Benzes next to each other ;)

The date is the 22nd right?
Any earlier is pushing it I think.

84300DT 03-02-2003 01:54 PM

i agree with bill , and think we are being darn nice and polite by even asking. after all a dealer is a business - look at it this way would we ask a mcdonalds before showing up in their parking lot?
worst case they can ask us to leave which would be pretty surprising.
fwiw i think it would be cool to start a gtg at the dealer's then maybe move onto someplace else.

Waiting patiently for a date for anywhere to emerge. I will be in the Boston Providance area March 28th to 31st and have Sunday free. Would be delighted to GTG with some of you NE folks.

KylePavao 03-02-2003 06:10 PM

Fine.

Screw the dealer. They are being a holes in my opinion. Lets find a nice parking lot. BTW, my car is leaking like a sieve, constant water, and it's f*cking irritating. I am contemplating replacing all the floorboards.

Here's a thought: In Hartford, New Country Mercedes is 100 yards up the road from Riverside Park. A HUGE parking lot with picnic area by the Connecticut River. Nice view for picture taking too.
