BeaveRun, 7/21-22

I've seen an event posted to take place at BeaveRun in July and the track is reserved by MBCA and no more info. Does anyone know more and who to contact to register?

TIA,

ANSWER to my own question...

After making other contacts and doing research I found the answer to my question. This event is put on by the Pittsburgh Section of MBCA and takes place in conjunction with the Pittsburgh Grand Prix which is on the weekend of 7/19-20. This way you get to go into the Mercedes Paddock and mingle with other MB owners and then stay for two more days and run at nearby BeaveRun. There will be a defensive driving seminar, time trials, autocross, acceleration runs and maybe even use of the go-kart track. So looks to be an event not to miss!!

StarTrack 2003

Greetings,

I know Michael was talking about heading out for this. I hope to have my 2.3-16 ready for this event. Or I will just bring the 500E.

Anyone else heading from the northeast?

See you there,

Dave

Wink Additional plans

Dave,
Michael and I are talking about meeting there but we're planning on going early. The reason, there is a D/E event taking place on 7/18-20 at BeaveRun put on by the Audi Club of N.A. The first day, Friday 7/18, is an extra day for instructors etc for track familiarization and costs $75 with the D/E event taking place the same time as the Pitt. Vintage GP does. This way you have a choice: run and run or watch and run!! Two events in a row and no additional travel and gas!!
Looking forward to hauling a$$ again

Who's going?

Well, likely I'm in - just ordered a set of Pilot Sport Cups to replace my recently killed Toyo RA-1s. So, who wants to run at the Beaver ? I've done a few laps there-it's a nice track with loads of runoff. Lots of traction, too, but hence it can be tough on tires.

Hendy's supposedly in-I'll believe him when I see him

Anyone else?

I'm in.

Hey Michael,

Did you register yet? Are they 'sold out'?

I have everything I need to go.

I want to get a set of wheels/tires from Rick at RC.

I did get your call this morning, but we are in Southern California, so it was 5am when the cell rang. Hence, I did not answer.

I will catch up with you tonight to coordinate.

Not sold out

Supporting the theory that few ever track their Benzes, they are nowhere near sold out - I think they had 25-30 paid entries as of yesterday. No surprise there, given that the track time is sorta limited given the entry fee! I plan to arrive Sun. night in time for the banquet-Bobby Rahal is the speaker BTW.

As to their schedule, Monday sounds like the day Hendy and I will be primarily on-track; apparently they are having classes in the a.m. for the novices (& intermediates?) and will let the experienced guys & instructors run. Then Mon p.m. likely the instructors will run with the less-experienced guys. Tue. could bring more track time, if all the timed stuff gets done.

So Dave, you gonna smack all the other 16Vers around? Maybe even a 500E or two-BeaveRun's not much of a horsepower track, so if you stay off the brakes you'll be FAST!

BTW: Do NOT let Hendy instruct you; he's not a very good instructor since he only says 2 things:
1: On the gas, Man!
2: No brakes YET! (and he says this all the way through track out)

See you at the track, ladies
