Angry stolen 500E...need help please..

I'm sure many of you have seen pictures of my 92 500E posted here on MS. Well sadly to say that two nights ago my car was stolen. I never would have thought that it would get stolen. I know this may sound funny or stupid but if anyone hears or knows of a stolen 500E in the Southern California area I will reward them for information leading to my car. I am pretty sure it was stolen by a pro since there was no broken glass where it was parked. To all the 500E owners I suggest you think twice of where you park your car or you may end up like me. Now I have to sit around and hope that it will be found, but I'm sure if they find it most of my mods won't be there but I'll even take back just the car. This just goes to show you how screwed up of a world we're living in. Anyway you all keep enjoying your 500's and keep them close.
Thanks in advace for any help.
vcci

PS. Just in case you havent seen my car before here is picture of it.

Maybe somebody copied down your VIN by looking through the windshield, and somehow found your name and address info (not hard if it's parked outside your house) and got a spare key through a MB dealership. All I had to show was my pink slip to get spare keys for several of my cars ... I think there is an article in this month's Car and Driver about this... sorry about your loss, Bob

yahoooooooooooooooo......My car was found (that's the good news). The bad news is my wheels, headlights, front bumper and some other parts are gone. On May 29th my car was stolen as many of you already know. Last night it was found on a side street in North Hollywood. Now I have to start fixin her up for the second time. I need to find some Euro lights front bumper and some wheels. Well just thought many of you would like to know that she has been recovered and I am back..lol..

vcci

Pictures to follow shortly.

That's great news!

Can you say Lojack.

P/S.
I thought it customary for the Insurance company to pay out after ~30 days. Since you had photo documentation, is the insurance company going to pay for those stolen items

Yes they should have paid me by now but I was having some problems as to the value of the car. Now I have to figure out the cost of repairs and yes they will pay. Does anyone know how much I could be paying for the front bumper?

If you need the whole entire thing it is going to run at least $1200 or so. Just the front bump cover piece alone is $980 from the dealer.

Front Bumper

Shunta is only partially correct. Check it out
Front Bumper Cover 94 e500
124-880-47-70 - $1200
(includes all hardware and inner bumper bot NOT "bumper strip")
~$100 for the bumper strip
L/R Fog Lights in bumper 94 e500
129-820-01-56 - $220
129-820-02-56 - $220
+ ~$75 x 2 for the brackets that hold the fog lights in the bumper.
+ the miscellaneous screws that hold the bumper onto the car.
So realistically its more like ~$2K with Tax and all.
If it were my car, I'd go ahead and pay the
Hood 94 e500
124-880-26-18 - $587
Grill Assy
124-880-07-83 - $308
and do the 94/95 Update since you have to get new lights anyway.
When you go to your insurance make sure that they itemize all these pieces and that they account for the wiper motors on the headlights as well. If you play your cards right and shop frugally and get a hook up or two from board members, you should be able to get the car repaired as I have noted above for little to NO out of pocket.
Look here
$2000 for the Bumper, Fog lights, bumper strip etc.
The headlight assy for the 92-93 500E are ~ $450 ea.
I'm guesstimating here but for sure the 94 E500 are
L/R Head light Assy's
124-820-07-57 - $612
124-820-08-57 - $612
So $900 for the Light assy(they come with the side markers as well). But Euro's for the 93 were ~$400 a set and ~$500 a set for the 94 E500. Net saving ($400-$500) ..That's the updated Hood. Now the wiper motors/assy's are at least ~$150 ea. That $300 in savings. Hardly any of us who did the Euro's replaced the wipers. That's the Grill. Everything else is a 1 to 1 swap!
