So are we going to Taco Temple or what?

If the plans are to go to Taco Temple, I will have to decline that dinner invitation and perhaps join everyone later for drinks.
Shanta ... when we have a GTG in the San Diego Area, we are going to have a fish taco, yes a FISH taco at the Brig (Brigantine) in Del Mar, where the Turf meets the Surf ... you will be humbled. Bar-none, the best! Rubio's can't touch this! (sorry Hammer!!!).

Maybe we should all go PotLuck . . . nah! With our driving, the food will be all over the place!

Let's just go with the flow.

BTW: if the weather is bad in Morro Bay we should head into Cayucos, which is a protected beachtown about 5-miles North of Morro Bay. Downtown Cayucos has lots of eateries, shops & antique stores, and the bakery at the Chevron (I kid you not!) has excellent breads and pastries, plus they are all right on the beach.

If we really want a fancy sit-down place, perhaps the Pasta Factory in Harmony.

Cayucos has that one place called... I forgot...something Shanty ( like a knock off version of Shanta :-p). I've been there July 4th 2001 while on duty. The owner is good friends w/ the Sgt. and we ate for free

The Sea Shanty. Good eats, great ambience. But definitely not fine dining.

Tahoe Joe's is cool, but I go there, oh, so often. As a matter of fact I am there way too often. But that is cool.

Taco Temple, is a no go for me, I am not into Mexican food at all, and I am not into hole in the wall, plastic chair, Mexican food, either. All those that want to go to Taco Temple, that is all good. Me and mines will be eating eslewhere.

Big Momma's is not bad, since it is Cajun.

While everyone is out doing there thing, I will find a place for me and my boyfriend to eat at, because I can alreayd see there is going to be a serious difference of tastes buds.

I guess we're going with the flow, so no reservations at Taco Temple.

Regarding the park: Funny how they failed to mention that the parking lot is not paved! Dr. and Neil since both of you are familiar with the area do you have any suggestions of a parking lot we can hang out and talk. Maybe near a coffee shop in Morro Bay? We can also meet at the hotel and go from there. Dirt parking lots aren't exactly what I had in mind either.

The Weather:
The weather will be cloudy early Saturday and will clear up in the afternoon. Sunday will be mostly cloudy and a 20% chance of rain.

Hope everyone has made their reservations, I'm cancelling the balance of rooms today.

the "park" right at the base of the morro rock isn't paved.

But there's a nice park right at the beach that is paved. Since we're all gonna meat at big momma's (right?) I'll lead the caravan down to the park. I know how to get there, but ID on't know how to tell you to get there

Time to summarize?

Afshin (since you started this thread), do you wanna do a summary of the plan? Personally, I plan to arrive in Morro Bay between 8am and 9am Sunday morning. I'll go to the Morro Rock parking lot and hope somebody else shows up. Neil's drive will be on Saturday - will we reprise it on Sunday? Lunch on Sunday somewhere - tbd at the parking lot after the critiques pour in on Taco Temple and Tahoe Joe's. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone! Afshin - I'll PM you w/ my cell phone no.

Don't forget the 9am Saturday meeting in Santa Barbara at the "strip mall" on Calle Real (Wye Rd. cross-street) for those travelling South of San Luis Obispo.
