Placo 1, thanks for the invite (on the 500E owners log), due to long standing committment I couldn't make it this w/e but there's always next time (soon I hope) is it possible to make another GTG happen this Summer? (the central coast is perfect), love the photo's look forward to more...

...then on sunday

On Sunday, CGenberg and Mark Stetson both arrived from the Los Angeles area, bringing a Smoke Silver '92 500E and Black Pearl '92 500E, respectively...making for three Black Pearl '92s all with EvoII wheels!

Good Time......

Had a great time at this GTG and looking forward to the next one. Nice to see all the 500's in one place and meet the owners.

Did you take any pictures of the people that own and drive these cars, too?

A little workout before breakfast

Leave Palos Verdes Sun. 5:15am
Arrive Morro Bay 8:05am
217mi., 2hrs 50min, 76.6mph, 16.44mpg

And when I got there, I can't tell you how surreal it was to see all those 500's! Norman's and Afshin's Black Pearl EVO II-shod clones made me feel like I was in Stepford or something. I thought I took good care of mine; Norman's and Afshin's Black beauty's are unbelievably pristine! All the cars are just so cool. Beautiful wheels on every one. Interesting details and tricks. This is a good group. The drive back was good too, despite the traffic. After I peeled off from Carl, Norman and Afshin, I decided to sit in traffic on the PCH instead of the 405 so I got off the freewayat Oxnard, heading down Route 1/PCH. After driving through the city I found myself at a light at the onramp to a deserted freeway - a short connector to PCH in Point Mugu. A new Infiniti G35 was next to me and tried to pull me at the green. No chance. And I'm sure I'm about the slowest driver in the group!

Who are you trying to fool Mark!!! I could barely keep up on the 101 when you took the lead.

BTW my mileage suffered on the trip back, finished off 3/4 of a tank but my engine was happy.

Paul, I'll post more pictures later.

the benz and everyone else, we'll try to plan another GTG at the end of summer......possibly labor day weekend? This time it will be in San Diego or Temecula and accomodations will be far superior . Not to mention there are some absolutely fantastic drives within 15 minutes of Temecula that will have your power steering pumps begging you to stop. Those of you up North please keep some weekend dates open towards the end of the summer so you can join us in SoCal.

GTG (AAE)

All,

I want to thank everyone for a most enjoyable event; it was EXCELLENT and i look forward to the next one!

From the 110 degree heat in the bustling town of Templeton, CA, to the 65 degree cool, foggy oasis of Morro Bay, CA, it was non-stop enjoyment.

I took over 229 pictures, which I will edit, name, and post to my website NLT 200 hrs PDT WED 02JUL03.

Side note: perhaps Mercedesshop.com and bnzsport.com can coordinate a combined San Diego GTG in the Fall... just a thought.

While I was only there a short while, this get together was definitely lots of fun. Thanks to all who helped organize it.

Somehow I averaged about 3 mpg better on the way home despite the driving style. Go figure!

Photochemical prints available

I got prints back from my photos from Sunday morning - 1 set per car. Sunday drivers, PM me with your details and I'll send 'em along. My treat.
