NJ GTG - Sunday 7/27
Okay, time to mark your calendars...
Who: You!! What: A random gathering of MB nuts who want to trade stories, admire cars, get advice, and meet the people behind the online names seen here When: Sunday July 27th, 11 AM to 3PM rain or shine (or whenever people want to leave). Where: Either Veteran's Park in Hamilton, NJ or Mercer County Park in West Windsor, NJ (this depends on a return phone call from the recreation department). Both are just minutes from exit 7A off the NJ-TPK. I'll post directions as soon as I finalize which park which should be by the end of this week. Why: Because we love our cars, it's a free country, and we have nothing better to do on a Sunday afternoon (okay that last part probably isn't completely true ;) ) How: Send me an email so I have some idea of how many folks will be there and then just show up. Both parks have picnic facilities near where we'll be that do not require advance reservations so you're welcome to bring the family and picnic as well (do keep in mind that no alcohol is permited by town and county regs respectively). I will have sodas available just to be sure that no one gets too thirsty. jlc |
Sounds like a good plan to me. I'll mark my calendar.
Either place sounds great. |
I'll definitely be there, whichever spot it might be at.
|
Either place sounds good, and the date looks open at this point.
I am not familiar with either location; hopefully either would be a good place for 20 or 30 Mercedes to park together. (I think we had about that many at the last summer CNJ GTG.) Also, I might bring my 4 year old daughter if there is stuff for her to do, if she wants to come, and if there are other kids there. :) |
Final Location & Directions
I've now finalized our location as being the South Entrance of Veteran's Park in Hamilton, New Jersey.
Directions: Find your way to the NJ-TPK and take that to exit 7A (Trenton, Great Adventure/Six Flags, and I-195). After the toll, stay to the left for I-195 West towards Trenton. Take I-195 West ~2 miles to exit 3B (Yardville-Hamilton Square Rd). Proceed to the first traffic light and turn left onto Kuser Road. The South Entrance is ~1 mile on the right. Proceed past the tennis courts and look for a bunch of blue and white balloons and several M-B's. (I'm not 100% sure which parking lot we will end up in - this will depend on the situation as I find it upon arrival.) See you there! jlc |
L<ooking forward to the GTG.

I'll try to be there.
Thanks for putting it together. JCD |
Six Days & Counting
Just wanted to bring this back up to the top of the list...

Can we get a nod of heads, or a wave of hands, as to who is probably coming?
Just wondering... |
I think I will be there, 90%
|
Wow, sweet 1971 300SEL :)
I hear it will be very hot Sunday, 95 and humid, with a heat index around 105. At least what Hurricane Schwartz on Philadelphia's NBC10 said tonight... Oh, if anyone wants a 1984 300SD, it's still for sale... but if it's 105, I'll probably take the wagon, because the AC works :) :D |
I can't make it
Between a church picnic and getting ready for vacation.....I'm grounded.
This is the first one that I will miss. Enjoy and see you on the next one. JCD |
I couldn't make it either :( ... just wondering how it was...
|
The weather turned out to be quite pleasant.
We had a small but dedicated crowd - three MB's and a VW Jetta TDI driven by a friend who couldn't get brake problems resolved in his two MB's. The Benz's were my '87 560SEL, Hans' '83 240D, and Marc's '99 C43 AMG. I had meant to take pictures to post but we were having too much fun discussing the finer points of our vehicles and comparing repair histories that I forgot :( If time permits, I'll probably organize something again in the mid-fall when the weather will be a bit cooler. jlc |
My daughter was returning from Boston yesterday and her plans changed. I had to pick her up at 2:30 in Newark instead of the original 7:00, therefore I missed the GTG.
I look forward to meeting all of you at the next GTG. Regards, Joe |
