Northeast Mercedes-Benz meet?
Would anybody be interested in a Mercedes-Benz GTG in the New England area? Before it gets too cold that is
Maybe somewhere in the Cape Cod area near the beach? Not originally from MA it'd be great if people could share some ideas and post some info on the place and its location.

There was a question of a meet in Framingham, Ma on the 26th that was on the diesel board. I bumped it a couple of times, but it seems to have died there. I'm still going to go on the 26th, but highly doubt much attendance. (it's not too far for me to go any-way, so no loss either way). I have been looking forward to a meet around Boston....Let's see

I'm all for one !!...maybe think about meeting at Yankee Candle right off I-91?....it'll be easier for most folks out-of-stae to meet in mid-Mass I would think...maybe not. I probably would drive 2-3 hrs. anywhere to meet though.

Yankee Candle's fine with me. I'd drive to almost anywhere in New England to meet a bunch of MB freaks
I'm guessing there's a huge parking lot there?

The owner of Yankee Candle has a large collection of interesting cars in a museum/warehouse right off I-91 mid-way thru Mass...I've been to a Mass MBCA club meet there a number of years ago....just a thought.
I wouldn't mind driving to say, the Cape of Cod, either but its way East for many of us new Englanders....and that darn bridge is most always a pain to get over!! |

maybe we can all have clam chowder and talk bout these cars or any car for that matter ? I like the Yankee Candle Idea too... anyone else?

I'm up for most anything you guys plan...and I can scrounge up a few other 500Es for sure to join in....and maybe a new 2003 E55 if the owner stops complaining that he's afraid of its power !!!
It has to be before Thanksgiving for me...that's when the poppa bear goes into hibernation until spring. |

I might be game and I could always use some good chowdah to warm after that long drive. Keep me in the loop.

Nice...you are alive Mark !!...thought maybe Isabel picked up your house and put it down in Kansas!! Greg W. said he called you but no reply.
Hey, get Jimbo and your other E500 friend to come up too, if possible. Brian would certainly come also as would Merrick and Victor (new 500E sorta local dudes). |

Looks like there'll be lots of 500E's! Great!
Now we should pick a date and place... What about sometime in October? Late October maybe?

Mawnin James
Sorry I missed the S fest BUT I prolly would not have brought the wagon anyway.
Beware when you buy a vehicle from the Herb Chambers organization I dealt with his son, George and I should have assumed I was buying from a "smoke & mirror" used car dealer. The original owner apparently cleaned ice and/or snow off the vehicle with his scraper. The dealer must have used that hide-the-scratch junk as I could not see them on pre-delivery inspection. About 15 hand washes since I bought it has them clearly defined. My detailer gets it for the first 10 days in October and hopefully he can do his magic otherwise I will have to paint the entire top surface of the vehicle. Otherwise, all is well Now my friend! WASSSUP WIT DAT?? hopefully you AND Mike C will be at the next New England GTG with any differences/misunderstandings/whatever resolved and behind your damnselves. Tom |

Gosh Tom...real bummer on yer S...duly noted on Herb Chambers (he's got a few stealerships in CT too)...next time you want a semi-new car...maybe let Bri with the E500 Limited (you remember him, right?)get you a nice one wholesale. He just picked up an nice 2001 A8L for under $20K with about 40K on it.
As for Mr.C ...I see he's changed his profile's occupation already which is a step in the right direction...honesty is always the best policy, right? Anywho, I'll forward you one of the few e-mails from MB track participants I have recieved which explains much of what I was on his case about...if you care. And your back problems? All better now so you can drive your stealth fighter to the GTG if it happens? |
