Cali-Neva-Zona GTG In San Diego - Revised!
When: Saturday October 11
Where: Pala Casino/ Hwy 76 Who: All Mercedes Owners Invited (Others Types Welcome) Lodging: Pala or Pechango Hotel/Casinos, Estimated Room Rate between $99 - $150/Night The Agenda: - Meet at 9:30 - 10AM at Pala Casino on Hwy 76 in San Diego. We will meet in the Parking Garage Top Floor. - The Drive: 10:30AM will be the official start of this GTG with a beautiful drive to Mt. Palomar in San Diego County. This drive consists of 15 miles of two lane sweepers which will lead us into 7 miles of continous switchbacks as we make our way to Mt. Palomar. We will continue East down the mountain on 15 miles of winding roads which will lead is to Julian. (PLEASE NOTE: This is not a fast paced drive, however the terrain is taxing on brakes, cooling systems and tires. Anyone planning to drive needs to insure their vehicle is in proper working order.) Lunch: At 1:30PM we have reservations at The Apple Country Restaurant (30270 Hwy 78, San Ysabel). They offer a typical lunch menu and best of all it will be Apple Season! This region is known for their hot fresh apple and apple/local fruit blended pies so bring your appetites and bring your coolers to bring a few pies home with you! Everyone will be responsible for their own meals. Meet & Hangout: - We will then trek back to the starting point of the drive where we'll hang out, get some coffee and those that want to gamble can. Rememember to bring some basic detailing supplies to get the cars cleaned up, guaranteed to get bugs on the Palomar drive!;) In the interest of keeping this thread short and easy to follow please RSVP to Norm at mbprsha@yahoo.com or myself at placo1@msn.com. I will add an attendee list to this thread. I will also post updates to the original posting. Suggestions can also be emailed to both addresses. Looking forward to seeing and meeting many of you at this GTG.:) |

:D :D :D |
I would love to go. Can I bring the bmw on the Palomar cruise and bring the benz to the car show? It's not going to win a thing, but at least I can enter. The tranny on the 250 is still original and it would have a very hard time going up Palomar. Does it cost anything to enter the car show? Will there be an old-ass-benz category? :p Let me know if its cool if the bmw comes Sat and the benz Sunday.
|
Sounds great. I will join you but only for a day. 11th and maybe the 12th.

^bump^ :D

Some quick comments.
Those seriously interested in attending this show please sign up otherwise we will not be able to reserve appropriate space for lunch on Saturday or the Shown and Shine on Sunday. Couple weeks away! |
Afshin etal,
Holidays are just another workday for me. I know I have to work that Saturday, but should have Sunday off. The Pechanga is only a couple miles from the house, Pala about 11, so the Friday night social should be OK. Where will the Sunday event be? I plan on bringing the 4.5. |
I am still on for 11th. My AMG.
|
I don't think I'll be able to make it afterall :(
|
Comeon people! There has to be more people going. Is this posted on other boards? You guys should post this on all Mercedes boards, and maybe other euro boards aswell.
I'm going to clay bar and wax my benz for Sunday and the BMW is going to get a new wheel well liner so I can fix my underpanles and brake ducts. So my broken old cars will be at least looking good. :p |
***Revised GTG Information Please Read First Post***
Due to lack of interest we've decided consolidate the GTG to a single day event. We will condense the drive and display to a Saturday only event, please read the original post for details. Please also pass this information along to any friends that haven't signed up.
For those out of state members (you know who you are) we will plan a small GTG with a few of the San Diego members both Friday evening and Sunday Morning to make this a worthwhile trip.:D ;) |
I thought the Saturday event was dead! I scheduled a trip to SF and will not be able to join you. This really blows!
