I'll have to keep an eye on this thread. Sounds like fun. Hopefully that weekend will not conflict with the opening of Windy Ridge (sometimes March, sometimes June...). How does the GTG work? Meet for food, weekend long with outtings??? Curious.

I could make it on that date too. However, if the weather sucks, I can't make any guarantees on which car I'd take. I am not going to take the fintail out for a several hour drive in the mess...it would be pretty mad at me. The 126 could probably stomach it. Sounds cool...never been to one of these.

My place is about an hour and a half outside of Seattle, about 12 miles from the north entrance to Mt Rainier National Park. After they open hiway 410 it’s a pleasure to get to from the south and east. This year, I predict a May opening for 410. Which means, I hope y’all come by during the spring/summer, as well is in March. We have lots of room for camping for anyone desiring an over-nighter, and we even have some tents.

I'd love to meet at Tracy's if it works for you other guys, especially Eric. He has probably the furthest to go.
Sheesh! I don't think I've been to Mt Rainier since I was in elementary school in the late 60's, right after we moved to the area from California.

The 240D is running. Do we have a place and date?

I dunno what's happening here. I've always had to step up to the plate and finalize these GTG's for this area. I'm not doing that this time, as I mentioned before, so someone else needs to take the torch. One of you newer guys may need to take over. The others don't seem to want to do it. I'm busy, busy, busy getting ready to move, so I'll just keep an eye on this thread and if a date is settled on, I'll try and make it. Last I saw here we had decided on March 13th, but no one has talked about it since, so I assume it's still not settled for sure as to time and place.
Would be a shame to let this die. I've always really enjoyed meeting people from the forum, and seeing their cars. Even the last one we had, where everyone only stayed for a couple hours, was fun.

I have to work this weekend, so I won't be able to make it until April or May...

I made the offer for location so I guess it becomes my honor to continue this project. First, we previously announced this or next weekend for the GTG. I forget which. Because of a back injury I simply can’t do it this weekend. Plus my mom’s 80th birthday is next weekend, and she just wouldn’t believe any reason for not my not being there.

Here’s what I suggest: If you wanna push the date back to mid April/May, hiway 410 through Mt Rainier will probably be open. That makes access from the south about a million times easier and lots more enjoyable. Plus with the park open, and there are some world class drives available. Paradise is literally about 20 miles away (how often have you heard that before?)

Last weekend there was about a foot of snow on the ground.

If the location is too far away for too many folks, I understand completely.

So......what say you?

I might be getting a job promotion, so my work schedule might be changing in the next month or so, so I will keep 'yal informed when I will be able to make it...

I'm still in!!! I've yet to attend a GTG and I miss them from my TDIClub days.... I vote for a nice big caravan someplace! Any takers....? It would be fun to see a clatter of MB's on a big field trip!
