Thumbs up MB Only Junk Yard Tour

JUNK YARD TOUR
Potomac German Auto - Frederick, MD
Saturday, November 15th, 2003 10am-Noon
($10 per person - light refreshments)

Come see the world's best example of an "reverse" automobile factory. You will never look at TV's JUNK YARD WARS the same again!

On Saturday, November 15th, Potomac German Auto will allow us to tour the largest recycling facility in the country devoted exclusively to Mercedes-Benz and European automobiles. Come see and learn about the clean, orderly, and environmentally focussed dismantling operation; as well as, the inventory and distribution process. Find outabout the special arrangements with Mercedes-Benz that allows PGA to provide surplus OEM parts. This is a rare opportunity for a behind the scenes look at a unique, first class operation.

The tour will be conducted from 10am to noon at their Frederick, MD location.

Light refreshments will be provided. Cost is $10 per person. There will be a mail in registration form in the upcoming GWS newsletter, or go to www.gws-mbca.org and click on the events link.

If you have questions, contact Steve Walters an e-mail gwstech@earthlink.net or give him a call at 703-765-9405.

Smile On National Recycling Day

We had a great tour of Potomac German Auto the MB Recyling Yard in Frederick Maryland . And plenty of members were looking for parts to recyle onto their own MB's, as well as talk about tech issues.

It was quite a sight to see all those new and old MB's - a bunch of brand New C classes that were on a transport that toppled over - talk about SAD - they still had all the factory protective covering and stickers on them. The new E class that was flooded during Isabel and that black G-55 that experienced a hot time...

It did not take much time for folks to find just what they needed for their own benz's - and finding the stuff, helping your friends find stuff, and thinking about what you needed was as much fun as the tour.

Thanks go out to Pat and everyone at PGAuto for all their help - and for the coffee and doughnuts too! We had great weather a super tour and lots of fun.
