Hey San Diego people. It has been awhile since we've had a meet or anything going on. I would love to bring the benzo out for another meet sometime, it would give me a great excuse to wax her up.

I remember talking to a few people about my project bmw, and how I would love to take that car on a canyon run with you guys, if you wish to do so again. The mercedes doesn't do canyon runs. :p

So is anyone interested in a meet or drive sometime soon? Possibly early June? Post up some suggestions!

Hey Kimmy ... a GTG sounds great! The W124 500E500 guys have been meeting for breakfast at the Dana Point Harbor (The Brig) occasionally. We could do that venue. For me, the next two months, Sundays are good, Saturdays are bad - at least from 8:00 am - 6:00 pm.

A Mt. Palomar run is in the works as well; not a CalNevaZona Fest, but a similar run none the less.

Also, another venue could be at Starbucks at The Company Stores Shopping Center or Starbucks in La Costa (both in Carlsbad - Kim, I know you know these locales).

Any other ideas?

Ah yeah, I know where the Brig is. My dads house is maybe 5 minutes from there. I'd like to try and keep the Benz in San Diego, just incase something happens and I need to get home. Ya never know with these old cars. :p As for the BMW, it doesn't care where we go.

Alot of the time the BMW people meet at the Starbucks at the Carlsbad company stores, since they have lots of parking. That could be an option. Maybe we could organize a drive and have lunch afterwards?

Another option could be to just have lunch and hang out. If there is a drive, I'll take the bmw, if its just a lunch/meet I'll bring the benz. I'm happy either way

I think meeting at the Starbucks at Carlsbad Company Stores is a great idea. Let's meet early on a Sunday and take a *leisurely* drive up the 78 to Ramona and/or Santa Isabel.

Kim: did you finish the engine swap? Are you S50 powered now?!

Yup, I finished it at the end of January. Took me and a couple friends of mine 2 months to tear 2 cars apart and put one back together. Was soooo much fun. It's the best way to learn about your car!

The 6th is great. I'm going to dyno the bmw the day before with the cca, and I hope it goes well. Should we make a new thread or keep this one going? I think we should email the usual crew since alot of people apparently aren't checking the boards. Can you do that, since I don't have everyone's email? Thanks.

The sixth unfortunately won't work for me, the HB Concours is on the sixth. If you gals/guys are free I know it will be fun show with a good showing. They're honoring Porsche this year BTW.

I was thinking the same thing. We want you there Afshin! The only issue I might have with it, is that I wanted to go to the Horse Show at the fair that day. Does Saturday work for you guys?

I'm down for a SD GTG. Unfortunately I don't have the 16V at the moment(it's awaiting a new exhaust back in the Bay Area). So whenever you guys decide on a date, I will try to make it. Most weekends are fine with me.

Hey, I was on my way downtown today on the 5 south, coming toward the 52 and was on the phone with a friend. I ramble sometimes and I said "Oh hey, there is a 16v benz infront of me." So I was describing the car to a friend of mine on the phone and he was like, "Hey I think I met that guy at an E30 meet awhile back, his name is Giancarlo." I guess it wasn't you, but it looked alot like your car. How weird. :p

You should definitely try to come out to a meet sometime. I'm not even sure I'm gonna bring my benz to this meet, since everyone has already seen it and the BMW has ever been seen (by the benz people anyway). It's funny, I've brough the Benz to a few euro meets with newer cars and people are just blown away. They just say "They had Mercedes back then!?" Oh well, hope to see you there.

Any opinions on Saturday the 12th?

The 20th is fine for me. Maybe I can get my dad to come down and come with me to the meet, since it is Fathers Day. Sounds good to me, and maybe even Tim can come along.
