No set date, but in a couple of months...

I was actually wondering where you were...there were a few other people whom I thought would be there who weren't able to make it, unfortunately...

That said, all in all, it was a great meet...good to put a face to the names Hopefully we'll have an even bigger showing next time.

I don't remember his name, but there was a gentleman with a '83 300SD there who had blocked off his wastegate, added a boost gauge, and I believe did a few other engine mods...that car was, for a 617, insanely fast. I may have to tinker around with my 617 after I get my boost and pyro...

(BTW, in the pics, my car's the blue/green dirty bird {right in the middle of finals; no time to make her pretty } next to the cream 240D...)

I knew I couldn't get the SDL running in time so wasn't planning on being there. Wouldn't want to sway you guys to gassers

As an idea for a future meet, how about doing something like the cover photo at http://www.vfaq.com/BADSM/, also attached? The frist sedan from the bottom or 22nd car from the bottom not counting cars in driveways used to be my car. This photo required approval from the SF film board and police participation to close Lombard for 4 hours on a Sunday morning. And lots of editing to remove tourists and gawkers. Photo taken from 40 feet in the air in a cherry picker at the base of that block of Lombard.

Photo credit = the good folks at www.gearjammin.com.

That 300D's midnight blue. There were two 300D's in that color along with the wagon.

Until acastell's 240D pulled up, I was the only one there with a car that wasn't midnight blue

I too love the color on my car...unfortunately, the hood needs to be repainted. I also need to take better care of the trim and whatnot...if you give any advise on detailing, I'll be all ears

Plans? PLANS?!?

Nothing was really determined, except that another meet will be done at some point. As far as I'm concerned, anything and everything's open (as long as it doesn't cost a fortune; broke college student here )...

I do think that starting an actual club would be ...

I'd be more than happy to share detailing advice at the next meet. Ive been detailing cars for 8 years... starting out learning from my dad, helping him keep up his sunday driver cars. Its become an obsession of mine to always have a clean car.

My car, which i think is in quite amazing shape, has been marred by a neighbor who in a hurry, backed into my car without looking behind her.. I was passing by at the same time. It happened so fast! My drivers side doors need to be replaced. Until the accident, my car was unbeliavebly un-molested, original, and clean.

Hope to have the doors replaced in the next few months. Taking it to L.R. Spencer in Burlingame.. AMAZING shop, specializing in MBZ restoration.
Im throwing the idea around of just waiting till I have the money to have the whole car resprayed, to be sure the whole car matches after the bodywork, and to have maximum durablity with clearcaot to fend off oxidization from the salt air we have here. The bundts will also be repainted, and the trimpieces runing around the car will be replaced. I cannot wait to have it all done!

I think it would be really cool if we could start having a regular meet maybe once every other month or so. Look forwards to the next meet, and hearing any ideas/comments from those who made it to the meet today.

Those pictures are fabulous! I would love to meet folks soon. I would LOVE to hear some detailing info, I just rubbed and waxed 2 panels and I'm happy with it. Tires are such a pain!

Dang, we need to get another one of these bay area diesel meets going again. I am currently emailing a lot of you guys about the entire california w123 meet in Pismo but if any of the bay area dieselers want to meet up in the bay area, let me know. I am sure there are plenty who would like to gather and see eachother's cars. Is anyone else interested in having another one of these?
