Ordered some items from Fastlane
Wow!! What outstanding service!! I just wanted to pass along info on how happy I am w/ my order. I had a few items that I've been putting off ordering for a long time. Well last Friday I finally made the time to sit down and place the order. During the order process I had a question about an item pictured. It was a little differant than what i was replacing. When I called the 1-888 number it was answered by the 3rd ring by a REAL PERSON. I was assured that the part would be compatible. I proceeded w/ my order on-line. Upon recieving the confirmation it stated that I would get the package in 3-5 "working" days. Since I placed the order late on Friday afternoon it wasn't shipped until Monday. I was expecting it to come in sometime on Friday. But NNNOOOOOO. It got here the next day!!
Overall it was a great experiance and I WILL be ordering from them in the future. Carry on, cmichalik |

They're good...
Chances are that your order was filled from WorldPac's Houston distribution center.
Here in Austin, ordering aftermarket parts, I frequently receive items in 1-2 days out of Arlington or Houston. But, don't bank on that kind of turnaround unless you actually pay for expedited shipping; I once ordered a badly needed part to complete a project and it came out of one of the New Jersey disty centers...5 days! The shipping was free!

cmichalik-
Thanks for the kind words! The person you spoke with on the 888# was Phil. He's there to help. Approx 50% of our parts are sourced from WorldPac. If you use our online catalog the source is usually WorldPac. They try to ship from the nearest location. If you call Phil on the 888# then he will source the part for you and try to find the best deal. We have several other suppliers that might have the part for less or may be closer to you. He can also special order hard to find parts. It's always best to give Phil a shout!

Phil is great
Very helpful, very funny and does a great job. While I have gotten most of my stuff from WorldPac, Phil has sourced more than a number of items from dealers and other local sources that has been GREAT from a service and pricing standpoint.
I have never had a question, or a part, or a problem that Phil has not resolved quickly and to my satisfaction. He is, in short, the best. JCD |

Yes, I believe it was Phil that I spoke to. I wish I could run accross more "Phil's" when I need them. I usually get stuck talking to someone who "just started working there yesterday". If you know what I mean.
Anyway. Phil's a great guy. |

I am a FastLane convert!
Fastlane really shines when you compare it to Performance... where I was getting parts before I discovered The ShopForum.
Performance has a nice catalog and the prices are competitive for parts that are probably the same but they seem to charge an excessive amount for shipping and handling. When I called them for mufflers for my 300SD, the shipping cost was almost as much as the mufflers. In addition to that, since everything comes from their warehouse in California it usually takes a week for parts to get to me in St. Louis. Both times I have used Phil, he has shipped from a location which is closer to me and I have received parts in a couple of days. It looks like the reduced costs of having an online catalog and shorter shipping distances are creating a competitive advantage for FastLane. And top of that, we get knowledgeable help when we need it. So from now on, my first stop will be FastLane. For "dealer only" stuff I have had good luck with Pricing and service from Caliber Motors in Anaheim CA. The only disadvantage they have from my perspective is shipping distance. Are there any dealers closer to me who sell parts for a reasonable price? (My local dealers are not really interested in the parts business)
