Since Mobile 1 0W40 motor oil is the recommended oil for all newer MB's and its pretty hard to find at most auto parts stores and/or wal-marts, why doesn't Fastlane carry it? Is it considered as haz-mat and thus difficult/more expensive to ship?

If the fast lane could carry 0w40 priced around $5/qt, or better yet by the gallon (since MB's seem to take around 2 gallons of oil per change). I have no doubt that people would be buying it.
