Bill,
Why are taxes put on parts that are purchased from fastlane and are coming from another state to Ga? I was under the impression you did not have to pay state taxes on stuff shipped to another state. thanks, Jim |

NEXUS
Where the goods are shipped from has nothing to do with sales taxes.
Sales taxes are based on a concept called "nexus". Each state interprets nexus a little differently but, it basically means that a company must pay sales taxes in any state where that company has a presence. Our company; MercedesShop.com, LLC; is based in Georgia so we have nexus in Georgia. We drop ship directly from our suppliers in several locations around the US but, they are only suppliers and are not organizationally related to MercedesShop. Bottom line... Any company that sells goods at retail that are shipped TO a state where that company has nexus must pay sales taxes.
