I want to buy from Partshop but the prices you quoted me for a rear window seal and a battery tray are 32% more expensive than at Caliber Motors.

I ordered the CD ROM from Partshop and was impressed with the service. But a 32% markup on these items seem high.

LJADJA-
The timing of your message is excellent!

We just signed up a 2nd parts supplier who has MUCH better prices on parts. I was up last night until 2am re-pricing everything in FastLane. On average, we are now 30% BELOW LIST on the items in FastLane...some items are 40 to 50% below list! And we're still talking about OE quality NOT aftermarket.

Our prices are based on what it costs us to source parts. We have never made much on parts. Now that MercedesShop is growing we are getting much more attention from suppliers and better negotiating power. As of today you will see MUCH better pricing from us especially on the high volume maintenance items.

But, that doesn't mean that we will have the lowest price on everything. The items you asked about in your inquiry were the following:

1) Rear window rubber seal (126 670 02 39)
This item lists for $78.00 at the dealer.

2)Battery tray (126 620 04 18)
This item lists for $29.50 at the dealer.

These are not high volume items and are not easily obtained from sources other than Mercedes. If we have to buy directly from Mercedes then our prices are only going to be slightly below MB list. That's the case here. If Caliber Motors is selling at 30% below list on $29 parts then they are an exception.

In closing, whenever we can get a better deal on a part we will pass it on to you. As new Parts Information Requests are received we will be looking for the lowest priced source we can find and will re-price the part immediately in PartsShop.

Sorry for the long answer but, hopefully you have a better understanding now of our parts pricing.
