W126 vs. W220
I have a 1989 300SE, in good shape overall, with 126K on it. Today, for the hell of it, I test drove a 2000 S430, W220. Very nice car in terms of handling and the like. Being an old-fashioned sort, I still prefer the stately 126 styling, but I wonder if I would be wise to trade up to the W220. Anyone with experience with both models, your views would be most appreciated.

W220
Really depends on what your after, those cars are very complex, I think the shocks cost around $1000 a corner (probably why it rides so good). If you plan on buying a new on the payments are going to be astronomical (or its going to put a big dent in your bank account). They are great cars but if you like what you have then why trade up?.

if you're going to buy a 220 make sure that it is an 03 or newer.they had a lot of trouble with the first couple of years.of course the price of a two year old car may make the decision for you.
