Well, it happened today, while I was cruising at 50 mph in 45mph zone around 12 a.m. (Pathfinder rd and Fullerton rd), out of sudden, I saw an approaching xenon light car on my rear mirror. ( first, I thought it was a new 3 series). Ok, So he came closer and finally stayed beside my car. I felt uncomfortable when someone stays beside me purposely. I took a good look again and it was a yellow Audi A4. I did not know that it was a S4. I tried to get away from him by increasing my speed, but what the hell, he followed me and just stayed where he was. I got really annoyed. I looked at the guy, maybe he was my friends or what? But it is not. His hair was spiky and gave me a wicked smile when I looked at him. Damn, I really don't know him. Without further questions I put my accelerator to the end + the kickdown and go!!! to get away from this freak. He followed me and able to "stay" where he was for a little while, but, after probably 90, he started to fade away and losing some length. I was surprised when I looked at my speedo that I was doing 100mph on a 45 mph(Pathfinder rd). I release my accelerator and the audi passed me and turned on his hazard light and slowed down. Oh.. it was a S4. Ok... So he asked for it. We did it one more time as the road became a little bit uphill. I became more confident. Again, I put my foot to the end again, he tried to follow, but his audi just start to fade away as the speed build up( although not so fast). Finally I slowed down and let him pass. He was pissed off by me, he slowed down and turned his hazard lamps again and zig zag his audi in front of me. But, I just slowed down not to waste my gas and abuse my car. We ended up in a stop light (diamond bar blvd and brea canyon). He was in front and there was a white prelude beside him, and I was on the back of the prelude. The light turned green. The prelude got away and the audi purposely slowed down waiting for me. As I was on his side. I put my gear to 2nd and hold it at 4000rpm when I think I had enough space to pass him, I just floored it and passed him as my car revs to 6000 and shift the gear to third. This time he did not follow me. I think he admitted his position. I hope he won't put any upgrades next time I saw him. It was a fun race though. Finally, I got my S500 a victim. It already has 6440 miles on the speedo by the time I post this msg. I might assume it was an automatic stock S4.

My 87 300E took vengeance on a 99 Audi A 4 2.8 once. That was a proud moment for all MBZ owners, just like your episode was a proud moment for all of us.

Sorry Guys! Is there a point to all this? Someone could get killed. You are driving the best-car-in-the-world, so why do you need to prove anything?.....or are you not so sure after all? Speed is not everything. Stay cool.

Your absolutely positively, right. I've never done it before, and when I did do it once it was on a open (almost deserted road) You're right though about both things racing is stupid and dumb, and we do indeed drive the best car in the world. Read my the thread started "aren't you scared" I share the same concerns as you do, however there are places where it is safe "to stretch your cars legs"

Racing might not be the safest thing to do, but sometimes you just have to kick some butt. Just try to use a bit of judgement.
I bet that S4 dude will think twice about playing around with another MB. Nice to know that a big S-class can trounce a performer like an S4.

Donny,

You GO MAN! Mercedes is at the top of the food chain as far as automobiles are concerned and there is nothing wrong with flexing a little muscle every now and then.

That car is not exactly inexpensive in the first place, and was engineered to hand much more than a couple of "Romp through the gears", why not enjoy what you work hard for if you do it safely. Although I can see the point of this act may be unsafe because you can't always trust that the other person will act safely, but I doubt that the other driver was a "Beginner" seeing the tactics he used.

Lighten up guys, Life is to short to not enjoy such a machine, and plus I believe this is not a everyday thing for Donny. If it is, all the better!

Racing with lots of traffic around is stupid though. However I'm so happy for Donny and his S-Class.

Now Donny, did you treat your S-Class toa nice wash and wax, for its outstanding performance.? You should have you know!

AS long as its on a open road and safe conditions are abound, then its "ok" to race.

Donny

My dad did not replace any head unit on the car. He still has the stock one which is a Nakamichi system. However if your gonna get the nav on the LX, I think you should get the ALPINE system becuase they basically have the best nav systems. There better then MB and Lexus. Check out there site and if you do it I'm sure it would look awesome.
