Hi.
Does the CLK come with a hardtop? I don't think it does, but i want to confirm.
To confirm...the only convertible that has a hardtop is the SL series..Am I right..
Why doesn't the CLK convertible come with a hardtop?? Will they ever?
I want to get a 4 seat convertible, but I really really love the hardtop option..

Thanks

David,

The CLK does not come with a hard top. The SL series do (and did) come with a hardtop. The W124 convertible did not come with a hardtop either, but there are (after market) hardtops for sale for that model, so I think there must be an (after market) hardtop available for the CLK convertible as well.

Just a question: why do you think you need a hardtop? We only drive a convertible topdown with good weather and to be frankly...the hardtops are always lying around somewhere hoping they don't get damaged...

greetingz,

Thanks.
Question: what is the The W124 convertible ? Is this the sl, or the CLK? and do you know were I can find out if there is an aftermarket for the CLK?
As for why..This will be my primary car, and I live in the NE. I would put the hardtop on in November till April so I protect the top from the elements.....
Comments?

Thanks

There is a CLK hardtop available, although I am not sure on cost. It is produced by Opera, which is a tuner like Carlson, Brabus, etc. A dealer I have had good experience with that handles Opera is Oberklasse. http://www.oberklasse.com I think the hardtop is on the first page

ss109,
You were right; there is a CLK hardtop on the first page...

David,
The W124 convertible looks like the regular (older) 300-500 series and was the former model of the CLK convertible.

and this is how it looks like...it is a four seater conv. as well

The biggest disadvantage of a hardtop is that your softtop is down for nearly a half year, which is no problem for the first couple of years, but after a while these softtops get worn. It is not that good for the soft top to keep it folded down that long. I think the CLK has a glass rear screen, but mercedes used a plastic rear window in their W107 and R129 SL's and these rear windows are impossible to look through after the softtops were folded down winter after winter...

greetingz,
