Yo Sim,
The S600 is too expensive back home... I was quoted RM1.5 million; while a reconditioned S55AMG was RM1.4 million. That is tooooo high! They're selling the 2001 S600 here for AUD$375,000 here, only slightly higher than the price we pay for an S280 with Keyless go back home. Has Cycle started assembly of the C-Klasse CKD's? I heard that CKD's only come in Elegance while those imported from S.A. are strictly Avantgardes. I just drove a Chalcedony Blue S430... it's a lovely thing, but I still prefer my '99 S320L, which, unfortunately, has been sold. The PTS overreacted on the S430, beeping away while on the freeway. I hope the face lift A-Klasses would do well... simply overpriced... every car in Malaysia is overpriced. Cialak! It looks much better and more refined than the older A-Klasse. Anyway, see'ya!
0o\=|=/o0 <------ E-Klasse!

Back to the topic... I would most certainly wanna be driven in a S600 Pullman! If only I could morphe my granddad's monster 600 to a W220 Pullman!

Yes, Choo, the S-class is really expensive here. Too much for too little. Could have gotten a spunky Rolls in UK, complete with all-cover insurance.

The S280, local assemble, is quoted at RM550,000!

C&C has not commenced assembly of the C-class thought they said they would. They said the same of the S280, but no sign of any coming out yet. My Godfather has booked one and was promised delivery 2 months ago. Now, its rescheduled for this month. All the best.

This is cool ... : 0o\=|=/o0 <------ E-Klasse!

Best wishes from Malaysia.

Yo Sim! Thanks for the reply. Indeed the W220 is expensive back home (I'm from Kuching, BTW). The CKD S280 is so much cheaper than imported ones. Wonder how much the CKD C-Classes would cost. I, personally, find the W220 appealing in design and the technology it comes with. But I am not happy at all with the build quality, and the materials used. I had a look at an S320L with Keyless-Go, PTS, DTS (quoted RM988,000) and I was impressed, but the interior wasn't appealing. Too much plastic, and it doesn't feel as solid as the W140 (Though MB claims it to be). I'm a wood trim and leather fan. Look at the door trims, pretty plain; even the E-Class and C-Class are more appealing. It's the S55AMG door trim and interior which I favour a lot! Lovely! I am looking at the W203, possibly the C240 or the C200K Avantgarde. Somehow, the Aluquadra trim does look nice after a while. As for the S-Class, I'll wait for a face-lift. Every car MB has face lifted looks so good. Look at the newly facelifted A-Class, looks so much better and really reflects itself as a small car with the tri-star. Anyway, you take care and happy MB-ing! Just my $0.02
Regards,
Chung

TXBILL,

If you want the C250D to be as stripped as possible, you should go for an european 1993-1995 C200D!!! This is a 4 cylinder diesel and is almost unbreakable (the same engine as in the W124 and W201 200D/190D).

The european versions are already stripped (as my car was as well).

greetingz,

WANT!

I want one of those three wheelers that was built as a project car. I dont remember the designation, it was featured in the MB Club magazine a year or so ago.
It reminded me of a Messerscmitt an uncle of mine owned once.
That would be a cool ride

Reminds me of the "Trike"

Once outside of the Pep Boys in Whitehall PA I stopped to check out a "Trike", a three wheeler with a 350 Chevy V8. A beefed-up motorcycle, in other words. I've heard the company was pretty local and is now out of business, but what a concept!

That three-wheeled Mercedes concept you're talking about was called the "F300 Lifejet."

I would love a new S400 CDI. It would have to be silver.

My parents 450SEL 6.9 litre is something. It still can out do alot of sporty looking cars, but uses a crap load of fuel at the same time. But thats just the fun of it. Thats why its only used on the weekends. The thing that i love about the 450 6.9 is that ROAR of a good old, un electronic V8 its just the best!

Man! I'm one of those people who can get speeding tickets in a diesel...I doubt I'd be a "good boy" driving a 6.9!!! My SD gets a healthy growl at around 75 mph. As for a forbidden fruit, anything expensive, new and fast is out right now. Problem is, lots of cheaper used MB's are mighty fast too. I've always admired the 6.3, 6.9, SLC's, 108's, 109's, 116's, 126's, 124's, and have accepted the existence of the 210, because there are so many of the things on the road.

Hi Sin... how're things? I went back to Kuching about a month ago and there were lots of C200K Avantgardes in the showroom. I must say that the A-Class slacking... it is overpriced, despite the price having dropped 50%. I would say the forbidden fruit Benz would have to be the S600 Pullman or the S55AMG European/Japanese marketed model. Anyway, all the best and take care. The S600 is one great care. I was at Westpoint Mercedes a month ago and they had a Chalcedony Blue S600.

Chung
