I was just wondering if anyone here would like to own a Benz that is not sold in North America right now? I personally would love to have an E270 CDI, a fast, efficient, and exciting car. But there are other tempting choices like the S400 CDI, G-Wagon, A Class, Carlsson S-Class, E55T AMG, etc. So with so many choices what is your favourite forbidden fruit Benz? |

The C55 in Europe, the E55T and anything Koenig, Brabus, Lorinsor, builds for the Autobahn.
Plus to much to list, like a perfect example of every car Mercedes ever built. |

Any and all the model 55's. E500 ltd. Would love to see any of the CDI's on these roads, just one even!
Oh and all the stick-shift versions that never made the jump over here. By the way I read in the NYTimes that Mercedes is bringing the A-class over just after they release the C-hatch, go figure! |

I don't know anything about the availability of US cars, but my forbidden Benz fruit is definitely the SLR roadster.
It is a shame that mercedes does not take this car into production and if they did...I would never be able to afford one... greetingz,

By "not sold in America right now" I assume you mean I have to choose from M-Bs that are currently sold in other markets. The E55 AMG Wagon is the first that comes to mind. The SL73 AMG would be awesome but I don't think I could afford it if it were available here.
BTW, for those that said G-wagens, they will be available directly through M-B dealers in the U.S. this fall as MBUSA has agreed to buy G-Wagen USA (formerly Europa International) and begin importing and certifying G-wagens for the US. MBUSA hasn't announced which models it will import, but probably only the G500 LWB. A couple of people said E500/500E Limited Edition. I know a guy in Switzerland that just bought a used one (actually, it's his wife's car). It's metallic blue with EVO II wheels. As far as I know, this was the only available color and it was available only in Switzerland. Is there any other difference between this car and a regular E500 besides the color and wheels? |

Brian:
DSinger found this site a while back http://members.tripod.lycos.nl/Mercedes500E/pagestart.html Under history, it says the limited edition was in saphire blue or silver, only 500 made, for Switzerland only, and the main differences were color and 17" EVOs. Nice pics at the site, and a link to European used cars. I found a E500 limited on there for 25,000 marks - $12,384 US! [Edited by JCE on 03-09-2001 at 06:23 PM]

For sure a SL73 AMG. That would be the one I would want the most. I can't agree with LarryBible more, a E55 with a manual transmission would be amazing.

JCE is right about the limited edition E500s. However, there are some late model year, "normal" E500s with monotone paint job as E500 LTD. Don't have exact number for those special E500s though..
Anyone?? Andy Kuo

I dunno, but ever since reading something about Brabus stuffing a monster V12 into a little, unassuming 190E and giving it the Brabus treatment, I've been dreaming about that car or at least the concept of putting a huge engine inside an "innocent-looking" car. Wow, talk about a sleeper!
There are actually lots more of MBs that I'd love to own. How about a million-dollar CLK-GTR? But realistically speaking, a 1994 E500 is my current dream car And oooh oooh, while I'm at it, let me share my dream project car idea! I want to get a pre-1989 190E and slap on an Evol II body kit on it. Instead of the outrageous Evol spoiler, it will have an AMG ducktail spoiler. The car will be painted with three coats of platinum-colored paint and debadged. For rims, titanium-colored Evolution rims, of course! The grille and nose will be updated to a W202 C-class, but the body will remain the same. And to top it off, drop in a C36 engine. Okay, I'm gonna punch in some figures.... |

Yal - the sale of A-class in Malaysia is not doing very well, compared to the C, E & S.
My forbidden MB fruit would have to be the "Absolute" latest model S600. If I could afford the S600 (which is priced WAY beyond me), I would never hear the end of the IRD looking at my every move!
