Back In The Saddle

After a 9 year hiatus since my last Mercedes I just purchased a black on black '06 E350 4matic. It was purchased new by a fellow in my office. I lusted for the car everyday. He decided to go back to Japanese and sold it to me for what they offerred him on trade. I also paid him the state tax value of the car so that he could transfer me the 2 year factory extended warranty. This fellow is beyond fastidous. One of my friends in the office said that I should simply put it in a hermetically sealed garage to preserve its current condition. It is absolutely gorgeous ( a reference which my girlfriend didn't particularly appreciate).

Having said the above I am strangely anxious about the purchase. One thing is because of its condition I am deathly afraid of damaging it. The other things are the whole price of gas thing. It seems rather indulgent to drive 4000 lb of machinery to cart my butt around in. Hopefully the anxieties will pass with time and I will continue my typical pattern of hanging on to it for many years to come.

Thanks for the encouragement. I was a strange sensation to actually be driving a car that I had spent so much time imagining owning.
