The interior is pretty nice too. I love the look of the gauge's. I just wish MB would give us more info like they used to like the oil pressure gauge. Thanks for the pics, keep them coming.

Hm... Am I the only one who doesn't like the interior??? :p Why would you have a HUGE Clock on the left side of the cluster???

The Center Console is too complicated for my liking..... I like the clean look of current W210....

Centre console is also much too cluttered for my liking too. Unfortunately, I have to give credit to Toyota for creating what I find to be a very ergonomic and relatively pleasant machine-human interface in the LS 430.
One need not stare at the dash on the LS. All the controls are large and easy to decipher, while keeping eyes on the road. I wonder why MB is leaning away from its traditional driver centric design... ?

I'm not too keen on the interior. It seems to shout BMW to me.

Oliverp,
But BMW interiors are nice - well at least all those except that of the new 7 series. That vehicle has to have, what is for me at least, the most hideous interior fitted in a car costing over $30K, ever!!!
On another note, I see that you have an E55 - and live in the UK (I grew up in London and moved to NYC after my MSc)! Given the astromical price of petrol back home, do you get to drive it much?? I have an E500 here in the US, and sometimes ponder returning home to London. It tears me up that I might have to leave the car here, since the price of petrol in the UK is so high.
Best

Actually, not just Lexus, I think most(if not all) Japanese cars are very "warm" in feeling when drivine... you feel right at home....

When I got my TL Type S, that was my first impression.... everything seems to fallen by your finger tips.... It feels like home.....

But European cars are still the BEST, IMO......

Farrukh: I've got nothing against BMWs, I've just never been too keen on the interiors.
The E55 is my dad's, I wish it was mine Petrol prices are silly over here, although the price has just dropped to 69.9pence per litre, it's still far too expensive!
Well done for moving over to America, I wish I could
If you do fancy coming back to the UK, do you want to swap places?

New Interior of SL and E...

Am I the only one who has noticed that Mercedes is now using "fillers" on the SL and now I see from the pics, on the new E-Class. You know what fillers are, they are the little plastic blanks that fill up the hole where an optional item would have been. I used to think it was so nice that Mercedes never had "fillers" on its cars, and I noticed it around the shifter on the new SL, and now I see it on the new E-Class. I think it looks tacky and definitely down-market. Very sad to see these little things creeping into these fine autos.
