Question Aftermarket Wheel help?

Does anyone out there know if one can purchase imitation or fake AMG Monoblock wheels? I love the look of the monoblock and want to put some 17"s on my 1986 300e, but it seems really expensive. The car is only worth $4K--I don't want to spend $1,500 on new wheels and tires. Any help??

Thanks,

Teleios

ebay, but get use to being smart and covering yourself, cause many people can sell you crap. A word of advice, I use to own 16" replica 8-hole wheels and had difficulty because they just weren't as well enginered as OEM wheels, which is why they were cheaper. And thats why I went through a bent wheel with 16s and 215/50s, but not 17s and 215/40s.

Thats why I purchased OEM E430 Sport 17x7.5 wheels and my own tires.

but your right, its money after all....Good Luck.

So, what next?

Thanks for the info. It looks like there really isn't much there in terms of knock-off wheels. I know the whole thing makes me look cheap, but like I said, if the wheels and tires cost 40% of what the car is worth, I have a real problem with that. In any event, here is my follow-up question:

If I don't want to spend upwords of $300/wheel, what wheels do you think would look good on a 1986 300E?

Thanks . . .

Hey, thanks for the Bekkers info. I appreciate the help. Answer me this if you can: will these replica wheels differ substantially in weight or preformance from the originals?
