C240 Experiences

Hello,

Maybe my wife and I are the expections, but we have just clocked our first 10K miles on ours, and it has been perfect.
She drives it gingerly, and I drive it hard. Seems fine so far.

Regards,

Richard

C240/M3

Hi,

To answer your question, yes the C240 rides far better than the M3. In all other respects, however, the M3 is better.

Richard

Regarding your C320

I just recently bought a 2001 Mercedes c320 and I have the same problem that you inquired about the clicking noise and I went to the dealer and they told me It has to do with the climate control sensor. How did you go about fixing it was it expensive? It clicks like 4-7 times when I turn my car off and Im very worried my car has 37000 miles I love the car but the noise is worrying me, and I want to know exactaly what parts I need.

Thank you

The dealer fixed this issue with no futher issues at this time.

Being my 1st MB, I am satisfied with the performance, reliability, and overall ownership so far. I've owned BMW's and Acura's, and each of them ended up back at the dealer for little glitches that needed to be repaired, so I'm not surprised that MB's need to go back for fixes here and there.

I tend to see alot of C240's and C320's, however, advertised Used with low miles on them. I'm not entirely sure why they are turned in with so little mileage on them, but if you want to secure an extended warranty, pick up one of these second hand with a Starmark warranty, and you'll be in good shape if a so called defect comes up, even after the manufacturer warranty expires at 50k.

My C240 now has 65 000kms on it and its a 2001. Its been a fantastic car and warranty took care of all the little tidbits that goes wrong with these cars.

My w126 SEL is a mack truck compared to the C240.

The C 240 IMHO is underpowered. I would go for the 230K over the 240 and I HATE 4 cylinders so that'll tell you something. If it were me I would go with the C 320 Sport package.
