1999 C200 Esprit Questions about air

Hi, i have just bought a used Mercedes here in the UK. It's an Esprit C200 of '99, 5spd, 4dr.

I do not have a manual for this car and so i do not have some answers to my simple questions...
For example, i've realized that all the time air comes in the inside... In other words it seems that the ac is always on..(cold air is coming in...)
If i have it set for warm air, then warm air will be coming in...
My question is: HOW DO I MAKE IT STOP BLOWING AIR IN THE CAR??? Does it have anything to do with any sort of climate control??? Is there something wrong with my car?

Usually in cars when you have the knob turned to "0", air will not be coming in.... But not with this car... What am i doing wrong? If i shut the air ducts then air will stop coming in but it will make weird noises and seem that it cannot breath...(as if it will explode)

Also, can anyone tell me (hopefully a british person) how can i get a factory manual for me car, just like the one you get when you buy the car brand new?

Thanks
Roy
