Optional xenon headlights worthwhile to buy?

Anyone have an opinion about buying xenon headlights as a factory installed option? They are fairly expensive (about $1100 in the US). One guy said they are bright to other drivers but don't make much difference to the driver of the car with them. On the other hand, that's just one person's opinion.

They are not standard in the new E class.

That is completely untrue.

Having both systems I can definitely say that the Xenon headlight system is far superior than any Halogen system.

The bright light emitted by Xenon bulbs almost equals daylight luminance and also is more evenly distribuited (generating less shadows and "ghost" backgrounds).

If the the Xenon system is FACTORY fitted, it should come installed with a self regulating system to avoid creating glare to oncoming drivers.

The new BI-Xenon fitted to the new E-class is worth every cent.

People who complain about Xenon headlights do not have the correct facts to emmit a proper opinion or they cannot afford them, hence they talk negatively about them.

Xenon is very much worth the $$. Do not let anyone stray you away from getting Xenon in your car. I put a set in my 300E and it really lights up the place, it is har for me to drive a car with Halogen lights because I am so used to the Xenons, the halogens seem so dim . Trust me, having Xenon will change your mind, you wil realize why the high end manufacturers have these systems in their cars.
