which one???

Hi all
I'm new to the world of Mercedes.
I was out today with my wife driving a couple of Mercedes.
We tested a 1995 C36, 2000 E 430, 1999 C43 and a 2001 BMW 330ci.
The wife liked all of them. Now here's the question which one should I purchase. The car will not be a daily driver but rather for my wife who drives maybe 300 miles a month. I expect to have the car for 3 to 5 years. Which one will hold it's value best when it comes time to sell?

Any other suggestions? Price range is about 25 t0 30k

Thanks
TJ

The E430 will hold it value the best out of your list IMHO.

Thanks for the reply.
I was hoping for more than one reply.
I figured alot of forum members would at least have something to say.

IMHO, the C36 will hold it's "current" value better than all the others. It's already suffered the most depreciation and as long as you maintain it over the next 5 years, ~20,000 miles probably won't hurt it's value much.

BUT, at the same time, maintenance costs will probably be higher for the C36 over that same timeframe! So, you need to determine your priorities and weigh the options.

Personally, I think the E430 will probably have the lowest "overall" cost.

I'd go for the larger size, the E430. I have an E320 - what a great car. I know many mercedes people who bought "c" series and wished they had purchased the "E". The car is an absolute driving pleasure. The 430 is also a rocket..... Here's a pic of mine
Good luck on your purchase.

Thanks to all.

My wife liked the C36's looks the best. The dealer advised that we could obtain a 4 year 48,000 mile warr. for approx. 1,600.00.

I have been looking quite a bit. The E430 really suprised me. A very nice car.
But I tend to be a speed freak since I already own a Panoz AIV Roadster. I might need to step up to the C32 or maybe an AMG E55 that is a couple of years old.

Which do you like? The C32 or AMG E55
