During what years was the W140 produced?

For the German homemarket and worldwide: early 1991 to late 1998.

In the U.S. : model years 1992 to 1999.

The first models available were the 300SE/L, 420SE/L, 500SE/L, 600SE/L.

Later on the 350SD and the S280 were added.

Designations changed on 93/94 to S 320, S 300 TurboDiesel, S 420, S 500, S 600.

The W140 was facelifted early 1994 in Germany, model year 1995 for the U. S.
