1988 300E stalls rarely
I tried the "Search" function just now. No Joy.
My car runs great. I get about 20 mpg in town (well, just under) and about 23 interstate. The car has about 140k miles. I have new fuel pumps and a new rotor and new plug wires. I replaced all fuses early-on and have had the guage fuse blow twice since. My car stalls when hard braking. Like when I'm close to a light that's been yellow several heartbeats and I decide not to go for it at the last possible moment. When I say brake hard, I mean I can feel the ABS override. I have had this happen 3 times. In my old vehicles ('64 Ford pickup and such) this was common (stall on hard braking), I assume from fuel sloshing in the carb and sticking the float for a second? Anybody know what's going on with the Mercedes? Thanks, Botnst |
