I thought that when the Mercedes Shop started the "Diesel Discussion" it was going to be the same as "Tech help". People are still posting their technical questions regarding diesels on "Tech Help", and are even referred to "Tech Help" because it gets more traffic.

I had hoped that it would be more like "Tech Help(gas models 1976-today)", "Tech Help(diesel models)".

I also would like to see "Diesel Discussion" listed right after "Tech Help"(gas models 1976-today), then followed by "Vintage Mercedes (1975 and earlier)".

I can't think of much to discuss regarding diesels, but I can think of many technical questions.

We do have M.B. Doc and Aaron posting help, but I see more diesel questions on the "Tech Help" forum than on the "Diesel Discussion".

TX Bill is a great moderator and ever present, but sometimes I feel like only 5 or 6 people post.

Thanks for listening, I justed wanted to get that out in the open.

Currently we have Diesel Discussion and Vintage Mercedes set up in the General Discussion section of the Shop Forum. That means that these forums are NOT the place to go for technical help.

The reason for this was so that the Techs (such as Benzmac) really only have to visit one forum to answer requests for technical help...that place is Tech Help. Many of the Techs on the site rarely or never visit the other forums.
Performance, Detailing, Wheels & Tires and Audio are all technical support forums but are very specialized. If we move Diesels out of Discussion and into the Technical Information and Support section then it may severely reduce the number of Techs who read and comment on Diesel technical questions.

We can do most anything but, the whole idea was to make it easier on the Techs to answer questions.

Like Patsy, I was confused. I was trying to post all my diesel related questions, technical and otherwise in the Diesel Discussion, and questions relating to the rest of my car in Tech help.

Now that I know better, I will stay in tech help most of the time and limit my posts in Diesel Discussion to how much I like my 300D, blowing smoke in some tailgaters face and hearing from what I consider my new friends here on the forums
