Hey guys...dynamite job with the site. how about a readers rides section? If you guys are interested, I'd possibly be willing to help out, graphics/CG/website stuff is what I do for a living, along with Real Estate (although my HTML/Java/CGI knowledge is sorely lacking)
I know I have plenty of pictures I'd love to share, as I'm sure many of the visitors here do... ------------------ Chris Singh 1983 300D 200k+ (stopped odometer) 1990 300E 123k 1999 E430 12k http://benz.mp3car.com http://stormworks.max3d.com |

Chris-
We are open to the idea but, the last time it was suggested we didn't get much of a response. If you search this General Feedback forum you will see a message posted on 5/1/99 by Lee titled "Featured Member Cars on MercedesShop". The idea was to have members submit pics of their Mercedes along with a brief "review" of their cars...likes dislikes, driving impressions, maintenance, etc. If you would like to be the focal point for this effort and have members send their stuff to you where you would edit the pics and the articles or whatever and then email or upload it to us, that would be great! We'll create a special section on MercedesShop. ------------------ Bill Wood - Webmaster MercedesShop.com, LLC |

Bill,
I'd be glad to help out. Drop me an email on how you propose to coordinate the operation...I can create a basic HTML template that I'll use for each car, take the pictures from the users along with the descriptions in *.txt format, and create a page. I'd say I could update it every two weeks depending on the response we get. I could lead off with my car if you'd like, or we could collect responses first. Thanks! ------------------ Chris Singh 1983 300D 200k+ (stopped odometer) 1990 300E 123k 1999 E430 12k http://benz.mp3car.com http://stormworks.max3d.com |

I like flipSyde'S idea also. Maybe the first posting suggesting such a section failed to get much response because this site was newer then with fewer members. Maybe its maturing now. The new audio section has taken off nicely.
I liked seeing Choo Chung Chieh's photo with the poles in Featured Car Feedback. I have followed members links back to web sites, and enjoyed the visit, but here on this site would be so much easier, and I would hope that just a few pictures would bring out the competitive spirit of at least some of those frequenting the Performance Paddock. LETS SEE WHAT YOU'VE GOT! After all, a picture is worth a thousand words! ------------------ Roger 1975 240D 299K miles [This message has been edited by Roger (edited 11-10-1999).] |
