Service Manual CD computer hardware requirement and operating system compatibility

I know I've asked this before and forgot all about getting in to see if anyone had responded. So basically my question is: will the CD (W123) work on a Mac? If it does, which system software would I need, how much memory, and all that system requirements. Although I don't have a PC/Windows, I would also like to know the requirements for that system, too. Thanks.

The CD's usefullness is limited on a Mac. My understanding is that the Index and Menus won't work. We have at least two Shop Forum members with Macs who have purchased CD's. They tell me that they can access the data because it is in Adobe .pdf files but, finding what they are looking for is sometimes difficult.

As far as IBM goes, you need at least a 2X speed CD-ROM, Win 95 or better, 16 MB memory and at least a 486 processor but a Pentium is preferred.

Irritatingly enough, the answer is -- not really. While the individual files can be assessed on the MAC using Adobe Acrobat and Quicktime, the program files i.e., the files which run the user-friendly search interface, will not work.

The reason Mac owners have had problems with the MBUSA CD's is because these CD's use Macromedia Shockwave Flash for the user interface. Shockwave is included on each of the service CD's but, it doesn't seem to work on the Mac.
I suspect that if a Mac owner went to the following site: http://www.macromedia.com/
and downloaded the LATEST version of Shockwave 7.0.3 and Flash player for the Mac, that the CD would work just fine. Unfortunately, I don't have a Mac so I have no way to test my theory.
