Part Numbers have changed

OK, Just got off the phone with the nice lady at 800-FOR-MERCEDES and the part numbers have changed for the TT Series manuals. They are now ending in -DVD instead of -CD as they have changed media from CD ROM to DVD.

Anyone know the difference between the StarTek DVD for $149 (p-2700-210-05) and the Info Access CD Rom for $95? (TT-2831-DVD)

I may have just wasted some $$ as I assumed the more expensive one would be better.......

The p version is the one you want....The TT version is a technical training version for dealer techs when the car was released..NOT much info for repair.

I guessed correctly that the more expensive one was the correct one. It is very difficult to navigate, but you get where you want to go eventually. As with most manuals nowadays, the illustrations are pretty weak in the technical drawings. What ever happened to the good old days of great black and white photography in repair manuals?

I think I'll need it. I gave the E to my dad with 107K on the odo and looking mint so I'll wind up doing most of the work on it. Good news is I got a new '07 CLS550.

Called Walter's Auto, the MB dealer in Riverside CA. Asked for the W210 DVD (P-2700-210-05) and they quoted me $263. Have the prices gone up that high since Jan.'07? The Startek info memo dated Jan.'07 listed that DVD at $149. That's quite a markup at the dealer. Any hints as to where I can get it for $149 would be appreciated.

I need a repair manual for a 64 190C. I have one that covers multiple models but the 190 stuff mostly doesn't help me much. the Manuals link doesn't list anything older than 1967 200 series.
any suggestions?

Repair DVD

Is there a way to use the DVD without having to insert the Disk everytime? I copied it to my hard drive but it always wants the disk inserted ? Probly some copy protection scheme ?

Unfortunately, you must insert the disk. Indeed, it appears to be copy protection.
