That blows... they're my favorite MB's. I played in one for an hour at Pick n Pull... nice green paint, decent interior. It was a 4.5 but I couldnt get the hood open. It looked good, couldnt help but wonder what was wrong with it. Makes a W123 look like a piece of Japanese tin.

Model car collecting

At first I was amorized by the Franklin Mint 1/24 scale models , than I found CMC and started collecting all the Mercedes-Benz 300SL versions from race prepared to production models from 1955. Then my asperations changed to more detailed models 1/18 sale. I have some models of the Pagoda SL from small to 1/18 scale made in England and by Anson models. I keep wishing for a model of this car with more detailed appointments that has a removal metal hard top just like the real one, prehaps its too much to ask for . I do buy a lot of Auto Art modestly priced and collectable for adults mostly Ford Mustangs for the late 1960s to 1993 fox chassie body .I did add the new SLR mercedes from CMC to my collection because of the detail, I understand if you want the best and can afford to pay $1000.00 you can get a really large version to stick on your desk with all the triming and real leather seats.
Most of my collection is boxed and put away not to see light of day till I can get the proper storage cabinets . At age 50 I hope that is soon.

It's not the oil. It's the labor that'll kill you . . .

There's a nice 1/18" W123 sedan from "Premium Shopping" that I've been looking at, auction #180447707278. This one looks like an already assembled Revell 240D 123, and highly detailed. I like it. These are pretty new, I haven't seen them until a couple of months ago.

The Revell 240D/230E is pretty nice. Being the compulsive W123 nut that I am, I purchased 4 of them. Two tan and two pea green. In fact, I am looking at the green one now, as it is parked on my desk at work.

I ordered mine from a hobby shop in Canada about one year ago.

They look so good I almost expect to see an oil spot underneath them.
