Yeah, I noticed that in their paper catalong that came to my home a few days ago. Sure beats bent coathangers or the factory dash puller tools at ~$35/pair.

Pushing the instrument cluster out from the back is easy, free and allot safer than sticking those hooks in there

Maybe on the W123 models. W124 and W210 models require the tools or a lot of extra effort to remove the under-panels for access. W123 under-panels are simple to remove compared to the later cars.

Also, my W123 cluster had not been out for many years (if ever) and so was almost glued in place by the old rubber pieces; it took both pulling and pushing to remove it.

Harbor Freight has whatever Chinese Slave Labor can cobble together...
(Using Forges that were antiquated in the Middle Ages)
If you can use it on your Mercedes ,without further damage to the Automobile;
AND effect the attempted repair somewhat successfully, then it may be
Mercedes specific at that moment in time.

On most every project I tackle on these cars I am using some tool from good ole Harbor Freight. Haven't broken any of them yet.
I'm not trying to say they are of the quality of Snap On or others, but they are adequate and cost effective.....

HF must have seen people on this forum using coat hangers for stereo and instrument cluster work. Then they found out that they can sell a few cents of pot metal and a few cents of plastic in a blow molded case to sell for 7 bucks!

I've bought most of my tools at Harbor Freight, and none have disappointed me so far, except for a 3 ton jack that I returned. I haven't broken any of my HF tools either, not even my breaker bar or torque wrench from there.

Hint: The "Made in India" tools like the Professional series seem to be better than their normal "Pittsburgh".

Another Hint: Avoid the super cheap electrical or pneumatic stuff there. Their higher end tools work much better, the cheap junk seems to be there just to get people in the door. Don't fall for the HF trap, like the pallets of stuff in the aisles at Walfart.

I wish Harbor Freight made valve adjustment wrenches. I can't justify spending $100 on a set of wrenches I use every few years, nor do I have to capacity to make them myself. Maybe there's someone on the HF inside on this forum who can make a test run.

I just bought the valve wrenches for ~ $100 on ebay.
My first adjustment, on my '83 300D, was a joy.
I used all three. as per-

W123. Adjusting Valves the easy way. Advise from a Mercedes master to an apprentice

They worked great.

Does anyone have a pic of the Ignition removal tool for W123?

My "Mercedes Dashboard Service Kit" just arrived. The web site has it on sale for US$5.99. It has a pair of hook tools for pulling instrument clusters, two different pairs of ignition removal tools (one for 124 and 201 cars, the other for 126 models), and a pair of radio removal tools. I haven't tried them yet. The diagonal cuts on the 124/201 ignition tools are rough and could do with a bit of smoothing (fine sandpaper). The chrome plating is not exactly show quality but whaddya want for six bucks? Gotta be better than coat hangers.
