Service CD's are available from most dealers. We may also offer them on this site very shortly. In the meantime or if your in a huge rush you can search the Shop Forum archives (search function in upper right corner of screen) to get the contact info.

Hope this helps...Lee

The cheapest way to get the CD is from MB direct. Call (800) FOR-MERC and ask for tech literature. Then just let them know you want the CD manual for your car, they are $95, cheaper than buying all the paper volumes.

I have tried to get a service manual on CD-ROM for my 1988 300E as well. My local MB dealer says that they're going to be about $95 and are due out 'sometime in the near future'.

I tried to look around to find out what are the computer system requirements for the CD-ROM service manual for W123, and I could not find anything. I would appreciate if anyone could let me know what I would need to have in order to use the disk. Many thanks

Jason-
I don't have one of the discs in front of me but, I'm pretty sure the minimum requirements are an IBM compatible PC with at least a 486 processor, 8 MB RAM, 4x CD-ROM and Win95. The disc uses Adobe Acrobat and Shockwave. Mac PC's work ok with the Adobe Acrobat but, not the Shockwave which disables the index and makes the disc much harder to use. I don't think you need any special video accelerator or anything although 800x600 resolution and 16 bit True Color would be better than 640x480 and 256 color.

There are several Shop Forum members who have purchased the W123 and W201 discs from us. Maybe they will share their experiences with you and the results with the PC platform they are using. I don't personally have one of the discs because our supply of W124 discs still hasn't arrived for my wife's '95 E420 and the W210 is not yet available for my '98 E430.

Rocky,
The C36 would be covered in the W202 service CD. MB does not typically release a CD until a chassis is completely out of production. There will likely be a bit of a wait for the W202 (C-class) service CD. When it becomes available Mercedesshop will do our best to offer it to our guests.

Hope this helps...Lee

Yes you can get the paper edition from Mercedes, but be warned. It is thin in size and only tells you the difference between the c280 and the c36. It is not a complete workshop manual.

The one I have is called. "C36 introduction into production MY1995"
To get all of the manuals would cost a fortune.

Does anyone know when the cd-rom service manual for a 1992 500E will be available? Can the partsshop obtain these items? What can we do until they are available?

The 500E is covered in the W124 CD-ROM which is "available" from MB. We've had these on order for quite some time and still don't have a promise from MB. As soon as we get them I'll post a message. The price will be $99.

Hey out there!!
It's time to help a guy in need...

I recently bought the Service Manual CD-ROM set for my '89 W124 300E. I'm still unfamiliar with it, so I'm asking for some help in navigating through it to find the things I need.

For instance, I want to find the mono-belt tensioner unit (inspection / adjustment procedure / replacement) but I can't seem to find in in the Engine section. Didn't see it in the Electrical section either...

Would someone who is familiar with these kindly point out which section (how about a sub-section and/or procedure number) I can find this in...?

Thanks in advance for your help. I've been driving this car for 6 months now and I can't help but grin each time I strap in and go. I'm looking forward to many years of pleasure and driving fun with this one!!!!

I do not have the CD but, I have the printed manuals. In the printed manuals, I am almost sure, is under the maintenance section.
