Floor mats can save your health, and make the job easier
Why do you want them?
* Shock padding for your feet/body. * Insulation between you and the cold concrete. * Easy to clean. * Easy to assemble and move at need. * Cheap enough to be disposable after a few years. :D I have enough of these mats to cover my garage floor. :D I try to catch them on clearance at warehouse stores.. The following links are examples of the mats I use. http://www.greatmats.com/products/dense-foam-mats-exercise.php http://www.getrung.com/google.html?gclid=COSvi567v58CFQTyDAodlUG_4Q |
Oh Yes, a neighbor has those interlocking mats in his pool room, saves the feet after a long night of eight ball.:)

Thanks Whunter.
Those mats are cheep enough to use for tool box tray cut-outs/shadow boards and plus they are the right thickness for that. Most of the purpose-built tool box foam kits on the market from the 5S suppliers are much more costly than that. Thanks! |
yup- I also use them for doing carpentry on peep's finished floors, too- save a lot of dough if you accidentally drop a hammer on a freshly done hardwood floor.
FYI in the midwest- on sale this week at menards-$7 for 4 18"sq pieces, plus $3 rebate. |
We've got a couple of 4 x 8 sections that we can move around the shop. Usually they stay put in front of the benches where standing gets old fast. Welding and grinding makes lovely perforations but so what and who cares! Seems minor but you're right - makes a huge difference for your feet and legs :)

I've always used quilted moving blankets since in my early life necessity dictated I get on my back frequently, usually outside on a gravel driveway since the carriage barns were full of vehicles leaving no room for repair work.
I know there are many advances, I even know about creepers, but old habits acquired in one's teens are difficult to change. |
Bump
for a customer working on a cold floor.

Good advice Roy !!! I have a few layers of old carpet on the floor of the shed. The shed has a dirt floor otherwise. When the carpet is a mess I just put another layer of carpet on top. Its great to lay on , nice & soft, cool in summer & warm in winter. Every one is always throwing out old carpet so I have a good free supply.

It's disposable when it gets grimy too. |
