Answer

The sport is stiff/hard compared to the standard Mercedes suspensions.

It is harder, but not hard. For instance, in the W201 190E, the sport suspension option featured a 1/2" drop via springs, slightly stiffer dampers and slightly thicker anti roll bars. Coupled with a smaller steering wheel and steering box that was a half turn quicker, the result was a suspension that could corner more competantly without sacrficing much in the way of comfort.
