Ok, I might get burned for posting this, but I have to say that the shop where I work (Precision Motorcars) is one of the best shops I have EVER seen (or worked at for that matter). Dan and Paul have been wonderful people to work under and their reputation for top notch service is excellent. We are constantly updating our equipment to handle the newest models possible and still continue to provide unparalleled service on the vintage models. I've been really spoiled working at Precision compared to being at a dealer. We see 300SL Gullwings and 600SWBs and Pullmans come through about as often as we'd see an E320 at the dealer Anyhow, if anyone is ever in the Cincinnati area, please stop by and say hello! BTW, each employee at the shop proudly drives a Mercedes diesel.

I would just like to add a footnote to Aaron's post...

Dan Fitzsimmons, the owner of Precision, has been extremely helpful to Donnie and I during the early planning stages of MB Autowerks. I had dinner with Dan & Judy in Cincinnati a few months ago and they spent HOURS reviewing our shop layout and business plan. We really appreciated their time, interest and excellent feedback.

Precision is a class act!

Suggest contacting Aaron Greenberg, a regular contributor to the boards, whose shop is, I believe, in the Cincinatti (sp?) area. If you use the search function, you will see his name, location, and list of cars.

Good luck!

Brian

Tom,

I'm not sure you can consider it a 'burb of Cleveland, but try Euro-Car Service in Norton, OH. It is just west of Akron, not sure if it is Summit or Medina county. They specialize in German automobiles (especially Audi). I have had by 1984 serviced there and had extensive front suspension and driveshaft work done. They do first rate work and are fair.

Euro-Car Service
3095 Cleveland-Massillon Road
Norton, OH 44203
330-825-6601

Ask for Tom Demrovsky.

Good luck! and let me know how it works out!

Best regards,

Reputable tech W Cleveland

I'm considering buying a 1988 260E and I need a referral for a good Benz tech on Cleveland's west side for an inspection. My guy's in Warren (I've got 2 '83 300D's), but that's asking a bit much from the seller. The car is in Avon Lake / 90 & Crocker-Bassett area. The nearest dealer is Motorcars West, but I don't want to pay dealer shop prices. Anybody got any suggestions?

Ryan's All Glass-Cincinnati, Ohio

If you ever need any glasswork done, definitely give Ryan's a call. They replaced the windshield in my '70 280SE today and did a very clean job. It was an insurance claim, so I had an original MB windshield ordered. Boy does it look great! Almost like there's no glass in there at all! Amazing how sandblasted those windshieds get after 150K miles! Their number is 1-800-582-RYAN

Hi Tom
Give the guy at
Rocky River Automotive Diagnostics
2154 Wooster Rd.
Rocky River, Oh. 44116
440-331-2080
a call he's very good with all aspects of M/B service & repair.
He's actually from Germany and has learned how to repair cars over there. It's a small shop but it's one on one interaction and you know who's working on your car every time.

Any luck?

I'm on the east side of Cleveland, Shaker Hts to be exact...just wondering if anyone had tried out or found a reputable/trustworthy shop for mb diesels? Theres a guy in solon/warrensville hts on miles rd and brainard, that is called German Auto, and there are always a ton of old school 70s and up MB's around there. He speaks with a thick German accent. Anyone tried it? Thanks,
Dave
