Thumbs up Salims Colorado Springs best Mercedes shop in southern colorado

Salim's Silver Star in Colorado Springs is the best place to take your Mercedes to. They have highly qualified technicans, and what's most important lowest prices on local market for both labor and parts. They're very nice for any customer and once you stop there you'll feel like family. I own two high price Mercedes cars and one think I can say I woul'd never take my cars to any other place than Salim's Silver Star on 1034 S Tejon st. Colorado Springs. THIS IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PLACE!!!!!!!!

Here's how highly I think of Salim's....

....I have an '88 300E which I love. I live in Colo Springs.

If Salim closed his shop, I'd sell my E.

I wouldn't trust it to anyone else, and wouldn't like the prices I would have to pay for service/repairs if I had to take it anywhere else.

Salim's is the best, all you have to do is look at all the license plates frames around Colo Spgs on MBs that say Silver Star Service.

Salim's

Salim's , Gus was recommended to me by a friend as the local MB shop would simply try parts until they finally found the issue (at your expense of course).

When our S420 had the Vacuum issue, I got the same thing. Now it's this and now it's that and in the finial analysis it was never fixed. The 4th time I went to pick up the car Gus said just a minute I need to reset the key codes and opened the trunk, pull some fuses replaced then very quickly shut the truck and it vacuumed shut and said all is fine.

But a week later as usual the vacuum issue was back just as before. Before calling I wanted to review the fuse box Gus messed with. I looked at the fuse info in the trunk and two of the fuses referred to the Vacuum pump. Bells kinda went off so I pulled the two and replaced them AND walla the truck and the doors would vacuum shut again. And the car has been that way ever since. Once a week I pull the fuses and all is fine. Hence the pump needs to be reset for some reason.

Obviously Gus knows this but is at a loss to repair it OR he wants me to continue to bring the car in for more parts and labor. In any event I don't need either one.

I never called Gus and challenged him on his key code fuse trick. But needless to say if he is willing to charge me for a new vacuum pump, driver side locking mechanism and many hours work that was never the issue this is not the place for me.

When it comes to Brakes, Oil, Tires, Cooling etc issues I have taken it to the Sears shop in Southgate they have always done it right the first time and if they can't they won't.

Best Regards,

I gave Salim's rave reviews....

....when I first bought my 88 300E about a year ago (I started a thread on this site). I guess I'll say I still feel they're good guys down there, but there were a few disappointments along the way. Man my Benz was up on that rack a lot.

The Mercedes is gone, they'll probably have to lay off a mechanic now that I've sold it LOL.

Ahhh.. Salim ...

I worked with Salim at Thoroughbred Car Co. in the late 70s and early eighties. He is/was a great wrench .... whenever he would get in a jam with a customer he would begin to babble in Lebonese or something and, although the customer didn't understand much of what he was saying, they went along with him and pretended to. Worked like a charm. Like him alot though ... nice man.

going to sears to repair mercedes?

you should go to Sears, your favorite place to fix your closing assist (not vacuum problem) as well as your oil changes and cooling problems to avoid paying too much for good service and repairing your car the right way; I have been taking my cars to Salim's for years and have never had better service for the cost.

Salim's Silver Star is the place that has done almost all of the repairs on my car since I got it. No problems there (besides the repair bills, ugh). My main annoyance is that I'll be kept waiting forever before I get helped. The wealthier clients of his will always get helped before me.
