I cannot recommend McDonald Automotive enough. Old school, full service, ASE certified garage whose owner has 45 years experience in import, diesel, four-wheel drive, hydraulic, and engine & transmission work and comes from a machinist background.

Dennis' philosophy is one of repair, not replace when it comes to engine and transmission work – no “no-name” rebuilds found here. He actually rebuilds components such as A/C compressors, steering boxes, and hydraulic pumps and valves switches as well.

Aside from his bread and butter work rebuilding Ford V-10s, diesels, John Deere agricultural machinery, TH-400s, etc, etc the biggest import jobs that I know he has undertaken recently is a top-end rebuild of a M119 V-8 following catastrophic timing-chain failure and the total engine rebuild on an Alfa Romeo Milano.

I have been extremely pleased with all his work on my cars. If there is a single downside it is in Dennis' perfectionist, artisan-like approach meaning that all work is done, well, when it is done.
