i logged in but it still wont let me into any threads. says i dont have write acces and may need to log in.

What are you trying to do?
Are you trying to write a DIY article? Are you trying to edit someone else's DIY article? These are the only things that you don't have access to do. You already have access to read any of the DIY articles or comment on them.
