BTW, this thread should really be in General Discussion.

Jeremy

The reason I put it in diesel discussion is that I only saw it there and not in other boards.

I got the same redirect a couple of days ago (using Safari 3.1.2) but only that one time.

It might help the webmaster if people said which thread they were attempting to read when they got redirected (unfortunately I don't remember in my case, but I'll take note if it happens again).

My initial thought was that is was some malicious code in someone's signature or a post or something (presumably the forum software shouldn't allow this but there are always holes...).

Amazing - I was reading this thread, although I have never had an issue like this, and when I clicked to go to page 5, I started getting the re-directs - could it be something that is getting embedded with certain people's posts?

I'm using Leopard, Macbook Pro, Firefox 3 and/or Safari.

Several threads on this board have opened and then instantly redirected me to a "please take a moment to visit our sponsors" page similar to the screenshot already uploaded. It seems to be relatively random and relatively infrequent.

Clicking "back" takes me back and then the same redirect happens again.

same thing just happened to me.
Me thinks the advertisers the board is using are employing some pretty severe advertising...

Just to weigh in from another OS perspective,
I am using Linux (Mandriva) and Firefox 2.0.0.14 and I have experienced this a couple of times.

It only happens when you are logged in, so it is within the server.

The redirect happened to me as well

It may have something to do with this ad.yieldmanager.com
I can see that flash for a split second every time I choose
a new subject even if I get no redirect it looks like it's trying. A goole on it says it's malware.

The only thing ive experienced is mbshop redirecting me to an add with a bar at the top that says skip add. This is normal for lots of sites and has only happened once on mbshop. My firewall (zone alarms set on full manual with all firewalls on high) hasn't seen anything from mbshop. Maybe im just lucky?? The ad networks really do do a lot of shady things and I'm not surprised.

if its a single ip you can just tell your firewall to block that for extra protection. But the ip probably changes frequently.

My WORK computer got covered up with SpyWare --- Windows XP and IE

IT support just gave me a new laptop image on Monday morning --- 3 hours wasted.

If you can edit your HOSTS file, add teh following lines:

127.0.0.1 80.93.48.89
127.0.0.1 66.135.60.166

Thats seems to have worked for me.

It has only happened to me once, where it says:
"ShopForum > Technical Information and Support > Diesel Discussion"
at the top of every page, I clicked "shopforum" in the main list of forums to refresh the page and got redirected to a page that wanted me to choose between subway and quiznos and then enter my email address, similar looking to the screenshot posted before.

I clicked "go back" on that page, it took me back to the forum and I haven't had a problem since. I'm having McAfee run a scan right now, but so far nothing has been detected.

I'm on a generic system, running XP and IE 7
