Apple Problems?

My babymama has a Mac that I have been using at home. However, whenever I come to this site, the computer freezes up and I have to shut it off. Any ideas?

Mark

No problems here, Macbook.
I'm using Safari 4 which is nice and fast but not as stable as Safari 3 was. Mac OS 10.5.7 and Safari 3 was incredibly stable... I had multiple browser windows and tabs open without restarting Safari or rebooting the computer for 52 days. The only reason I rebooted was to install some software updates. The last Java update seems to have improved Safari 4, it's been stable since I installed it, but it's only been a few days.

What computer, OS version, browser are you using?

I'm not sure about the versions, but it's Safari and I think the OS is Leopard?

You can get the version information by clicking on the apple and selecting 'About this Mac' [close the pop-up with the red button] and then clicking on the word 'Safari' and clicking on 'About Safari' [and close the pop up]

Yes, it is only on this site that it has happened. I just got my out-laws to the airport, will check versions this evening.

There _was_ a later Safari version [3.2] that had some bug fixes. [I have that version running on an elderly iMac G3] But, that is probably no longer available with the release of Safari 4.0

I would not currently recommend Safari 4.x to anyone [I think I have a conflict with a 'click to flash' plugin, but it may be the browser itself.]

I would recommend downloading Firefox [or it's slightly more mac flavored version 'Camino'] and seeing if there is any improvement when using an alternate browser.

I use a MacBook most of the time and I haven't had any problems while browsing using FF.

I hate IE! I use Firefox unless I need to go to something like Outlook Web then I have to use IE. IE 8 is really stinky. They HIDE the menu for file, view, etc, by default!

I have also used Opera, which was pretty good, and I have loaded Safari for Vista -- Apple getting back at Mr Gates , but I like FF best...
