Fs: 1983 240d

Mercedes 1983 240D
~261,000 miles
Manual 4spd
Blue/Blue
Not saying it's a beaut, it's rough around the edges but still runs well.

Needs front driver's side ball joints, front brakes (probably rotors). Probably could use the front end rebuilt as well as rear shocks.
Rear brake line and hydraulic clutch line just replaced.
New Auto Zone battery
9 month old Bosch Glow plugs - Starts easily
Drivers side seat has a rip in it and probably needs the springs rebuilt.
New voltage regulator
average rust (except bottom of the ds door is pretty hairy)
missing 2 hubcaps
new front tires, rears in good condition
Emergency brake is loose, at the end of adjustment.
First aid kit is intact!!
Inside ds door handle is loose.
AC is long gone, but my mechanic swears that it only needs a recharge.
Paint is well-worn, some primer shows on the ds front quarter.

This car has gotten me thru the last three years with very little spent on repairs. I really wish I had the time or money to do the work that needs to be done to it, but I don't. As I mentioned in the original thread when I was thinking about selling it, I would like to see some one buy it that can nurse it back into shape, but I at least want to see it used as parts car for a good project.

Asking $1000, but will definitely consider all reasonable offers.

I will get pics up, but the weather and my work schedule hasn't cooperated.

It is currently located in Rockland, MA (South Shore)

Best way to reach me is:
Business hours: jneville AT tcml DOT com (800)617-6172 x4384
Evenings/Weekends: dreamliner77 AT nevtek DOT com

If you are really serious and would like to take a look my cell is (781)635-5743, but I prefer to be reached by the above methods first.

Someone from this forum emailed me yesterday or today (you had an aol email address). Unfortunately hotmail filtered it as junk and I accidently deleted it.

It's still for sale, and I'm running out of a place to store it very soon. I'm accepting reasonable offers. Started with about 20 sec of preglow last night after not being started for about 5 weeks.

UPDATE:

Okay, I am going to lose my storage very soon. While sitting the last 5 months, the front driver's side spring has snapped. I haven't had time to replace it. I'm looking for $200 and you can tow it away. I just want to recoup some of the money of recent parts.

best to get me during the day at

jneville(AT)tcml(DOT)com

does it run... or does it really need a tow? I am located near Salem on the North Shore....

thanks,
JoshO

dreamliner77 05-25-2005 04:18 PM

it runs, it's the brakes and broken spring that require a tow.
