Once I sell off whatever folks want, I am going to clean off all the easily removed parts which go bad and take the shell to the scrap yard.
you know, i'd like to have that body; but by the time its shipped to VA, i don't think i could scratch up the shipping charges, much less the price of the car. i really would prefer a coupe over the TD i'm driving now.

We could make a deal probably. The ignition switch is messed up though and it is tricky to fix. That is the reason I abandoned it from regular use really. There is a fellow here on the forum with good doors and besides that most of the rust is in the front fenders which are removable, so if you are an ambitious man you could probaby resurrect her. The seats are really rough though and they are not the same as a sedan and skins are not availble. If you knew someone who does upolstery they could reskin them though.

actually, i am an MB certified master tech, (not that that really means anything, an idiot could pass the online tests MB gives us) so none of the repairs would be too big of a problem for me except the seats if i can't find some good covers. i got plenty of room in my driveway while i'm fixing it up too. but money's kinda tight and i imagine just the shipping is $300-500.

For the right deal I could be persuaded to deliver probably, depending on work load and other considerations.

What's wrong with your doors? Mine has bad rust on the rear quarter panels, which is more of a nightmare, but I'm still hoping to get it restored. If you end up selling the whole car I'm still in need of a good passenger door if you'd like to let me know how to reach the fellow you mentioned. It would be nice to see the car stay intact though I could use some parts.

Mine also has engine problems, but in time I hope to attend to that too...

sounds like maybe we could work something out, but the DC 'burbs is a long way from indiana. unless you wanted to see the smithsonian while your in the area or something...
i guess by the time you get the engine and trans, etc out of it, let me know what you'd want to bring it here if you want to take a road trip.
thanks.

If you want the car with all the parts except the drivetrain you need to speak for it now because I have people wanting parts from it. Of course most of what is wanted is Coupe specific so if you want to put this one back on the road you probably want them yourself.

Probably the value of it once I get everything off it would not justify a delivery so far away, too.

$500 for the rolling chassis? Or make an offer. The engine, tranny, front ds, instrument cluster and rear end will be gone.

Crazy isn't it? you could basically get that for scrap metal but no one is willing to pay it. I should have had you bring it with you when you brought the seats. I'm seeing the same thing, everyone wants the car, but wants it for free. I'm guessing at this point that it would be hard pressed to see 2k out of mine. Makes me feel like tossing it into a garage and letting it sit for another 5 years.

I may go the ebay myself just to see if I can get any real interest in mine.

hows the glass in yours? I guess I would be interested in it if the windshield and both door glass is good. Plus I could use the rear windows regulators cause mine are binding and I want a set I can reenforce and put back in...

Getting here would be another matter since I sold my F350 the other day...

My glass is good except for the rear glass which is clouded on the bottom. The windows all go up and down but a loose and need coaxing. If you want it you can send a deposit and I can deliver it next time I go to see my son in Florida.

if "front ds" means the doors are gone, it wouldn't do me much good. it would be sitting outside while i prepped it for the engine/tranny swap.
