Exclamation Euro 300TW wagon Manual Transmission! Seattle

I am not affiliated with this guy, but I thought I would share this fairly rare beast with you all. I took a look at this car today, but ended up not buying it. The car has a salvage title. Here is what the original owner had to say about it:

there was about 1500 in repairs ( did it on the cheap-- used parts ) done to one fender, the bumper, and some other part in the steering (ball joint??). i could go look it up but i assume if you are serious you will do some inspection and of course see the paperwork from this repair.

bottom line is yes it was wrecked and yes it's fixed and drives great... BUT its not perfect-- you can tell by looking at it that something happened because the fender is off-color.

currently, maintenance is performed by Christopher Goodwin motorsport. (1218 10th ave.)
he says it needs injectors but another mechanic said that's hogwash-- there is nothing wrong.
Mercedes recommends that you do injectors every 100K and somehow i can imagine it's never been done! These German engineers know how to make something run forever!
so i guess the answer is yes and no. plus it leaks or burns oil (not enough to need topping off between oil changes) , and, well... you can see that trademark old diesel exhaust puff pretty good sometimes (esp. when starting) AAAND one last thing - odometer is busted but speedo works. Its a good runner and hard to find to boot- dont spend more unless you are getting a VERY nice '87 or newer one with a new trans

just so you can remember which one this is-- merc 300 TD-T 1983 EURO import-- manual trans, locks, and windows, solid spring rear ( not AIR powered, ugh..) 5cl non-turbo diesel 350k miles SAGE GREEN -paint looks good NO rust. $3000

There really is no rust, other than some surface rust from paint dings and a bit of bubbling around the passenger jack points. Probing the rust with a golf tee showed that it was not rusted through. There is allot of minor dings and dents on this car and the drivers side front fender is black. The interior was OK. There are some tears in the seats, the rear carpet is missing and the dash could use some help.

If you are interested send me a PM and I will give you the contact info for the owner. Again I'm not affiliated with him, I just thought I would share this fairly rare car with the rest of you. -Bryan

Bryan and everyone-I've never seen (nor has anyone else) a emblem on the back of any w123 that has more than two letters. There is no TDT or CDT or DT. They are all TD's- turbo or not. They are all D's- turbo or not. They are all CD's -turbo or not. If it's important to the conversation you can list the model of the engine- like a 617-912 or 617-952 or what ever. You have listed this car as a TD-T and then say it's a non turbo. More people are confused by using this -T stuff AND it's not proper terminology. For simplicity's sake let it be known that in the w123 years of USA production all versions were NA to begin with. The wagons were the first to have the turbo in the '81 year and had no option for a non turbo from 81-85. The sedans and coupes had nearly the same engine (minus a SLS pump in the head) a year later in '82. Again there was no option for a NA engine. Non USA models can be non turbo's OR turbo after the start of the USA turbo versons. BTW- what does TW mean?
This sounds like a great car, and with the manual tranny, quite rare in the USA. Be nice to see with photo's!
